The Morecambe Hotel
Rod Taylor, a Sand Grown'un (Morecambe born) and Karen Taylor, both passionate about the town, were delighted to find this local development opportunity. Amy (daughter) and Dan Winward (the Licensees) who manage the hotel also managed the renovation and refurbishment. Val King, a lifelong resident of Morecambe and a family member, has relished her role in bringing the project to life.

Now key to providing the quality service, attention to detail and excellence, her role is as Front of House Manager. Even before Morecambe existed, The Morecambe Hotel plied it's trade in the fishing village of Poulton. This 1828 coaching inn took it's name from Morecambe Bay and served the growing numbers of tourists and traders visiting the area.

A public house for almost 200 years, the bar at the Morecambe Hotel offers a friendly pub style welcome. The full cafe and bar range is chosen for quality, exclusivity and appeal by licensees Dan and Amy Winward. Drinks are served from an impressive bar recreated to the original dimensions in solid oak and slate.
We are family run, Grade II former coaching inn and provide cosy, informal accommodation with a welcoming feel. Our family values are reflected in the presentation of rooms and the high quality service we deliver in an unobtrusive manner. Our charming first floor function room is an ideal venue for private meetings, celebrations and get-togethers. The room can be set to suit both formal and informal occasions. The seating capacity depends on the configuration of the 6 tables and there is space for 24 people to sit comfortably. At one end is the beautifully restored original fireplace, on the opposite wall is an extra large, wall mounted TV screen.
Much more than a beer garden, our beautifully landscaped outdoor space is fully equipped for relaxation, dining and children's play. The large garden is fully enclosed by the original stone walls, wicker fencing panels and planted trees. The ramp access to the patio provides access for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs.

What a lovely hotel!
We stayed here on our first night away with our 8 week old baby, a little nervous at how it might be. Matthew and the team were so helpful, making it an absolute breeze.
The room was fabulous and the breakfast was stunningly good. If we’re back in Morecambe again we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely, immaculately clean establishment.. Food was excellent, if slightly expensive. Barman, or maybe even manager, was a bit grumpy, but our waitress was a right case.. Very helpful..
All in all, i would thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely place and great staff. Very understanding of our large mixed age party. Food excellent although veggie dishes not as good as non vegetarian.
A special mention to our patient waitress.

Had a wonderful two night stay at the Morecambe Hotel. Visiting family in the local area. The room was spotless, never stayed in such an immaculate room. Staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Joni, who took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed in our room. We definitely will be visiting again so thank you for a wonderful stay.

We arrived having not precooked at lunch time. We were seated immediately. The menu was very limited (possibly due to covid?) But the food that was on the menu was a good selection, I only wish they had a salad as an option. It was a lovely sunny day and so we sat outside. The outside area is STUNNING! We were served immediately and we waited maybe 10 minutes for our food to arrive. The sandwiches were HUGE and so tasty. The prawns were brilliant and the coleslaw the best ever. Prices were very reasonable. There's also a little play park for little ones. Highly recommend giving this place a try

What a find! We had planned on the Midland but as they didn't take bookings, we had to look elsewhere. The hotel is beautiful with a fantastic play area for kids outside. Service was brilliant and we all felt very welcomed. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back. Thank you x
