Smashing country pub with a railway background, good guest beers and great food! I had the haddock chips & mushy's with a glass of one of the guest beers, my mates had chilli con carne with rice and nachos and a huge cheese sandwich with lots of trimmings. No complaints from any of us with lean plates at the end!
Reccomended hostelry if you are in the area!

Went for roast beef yesterday… everything was fab, lovely veg, best veg on a roast I’ve eaten in a long time. Creamy cabbage and red cabbage and lots more- something a bit different. Brilliant service and hospitality. However… the beef reminded us of primary school. The beef let it down, quite chewy and very thin, like beef you would buy sliced for sandwiches in the supermarket. If you were to change the beef to proper thick cut roast beef we would definitely be back for another roast! Would happily pay more for better beef. Great value for money otherwise.
