We are a small group of four family-run restaurants specialising in authentic home-style cooking from our native South West Vietnam. Each restaurant is managed by a different family member under consultation from our founders Mrs My Le and Chef Mr Su Tran. In the kitchen Chef Su insists on fresh ingredients and in the dining room Mrs My Le insists on a warm welcome.
We are named Mien Tay after the area of Southern Vietnam from which all our family originate. The Mekong Delta runs through the region sustaining an abundance of fish and vegetation and our cooking reflects these fresh and fragrant characteristics typical of Vietnamese cuisine. Our menu includes traditional dishes local to the Mien Tay region - why not try some?

A group of us stumbled upon this place in Hoxston after being at an event.
It looked really spacious inside so gave it a try.
The food was really really delicious and very well presented.
I particularly recommend the Salt & Pepper Squid.
It was quite hard to get the staff's attention to order or get the bill but other than that it was great.
Would return again.

We visited based on the amazing reviews. We live locally and know many of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Shoreditch. Mien Tay restaurant is well below the standards of most of them. The food is bland and average. The wine is horrendous. Their main focus is on cocktails and hyperactive party music, which is definitely not what we were expecting. 1 star for posting several likely fake reviews a day and cheat on other businesses in the area. 1 star more because the service was very good. I'll give them that. My advice: go somewhere else, and careful with the reviews you see. Too many in a

Food was great and the moist noodles with brisket and chicken were fantastic. Minus two stars for the indifferent service at a totally quiet not busy hour followed by three waitresses ignoring the polite "good night" said upon departure. And yes we did tip even though the service was not good. Moral: don't tip.

Shoreditch area is prob one the best in London for Viet food. Came across this place while yelping for some authentic viet food in London. Green Mango Salad w prawns was very delicious. Stir fried noodles w tofu was alright.. unfortunately we found a piece of broken glass in this dish.. the waiter apologized and took it off our bill - still a huge disappointment.

The 1 star is because of the food that was average to good.
I can understand it is a Friday night and from being the only table upstairs, it became full within 5 minutes but lucky us we were one of the first tables (9pax) to order...
The food came quickly one after another one for my table of 9 pax, which it was good, and I only received my egg rice. After 10 minutes I realised I didn't have my dish (pork and aubergine), so I told the waiters which they acknowledge it.
It was clear that they forgot my dish (I think couple of times) because after 20minutes since I asked the for my dish, they

Pretty good Vietnamese food in a cluster of Vietnamese restaurants in Shoreditch. The porkchop with lemongrass was tender and I liked how they sliced the meat. The pho was not so great -- the broth was a bit bland and lacked depth.
Still it was nice to have more textures and flavors after a bit too much soft and bland British food.

New Yorkers: believe me when I tell you that Mien Tay is the same level as our own Pho Bang in Flushing, Queens. This restaurant not only has fantastic food, but lovable staff as well. I ordered number 141 on the menu, which was Vermicelli noodles with char grilled pork and spring rolls. The pork was tender and char grilled to perfection, and the spring rolls were crunchy and packed with delicious vegetables and meat. The mint, parsley, basil, lettuce, carrots and cucumbers were superbly crunchy. The noodles were springy and not overly cooked to mushiness. The fish sauce was sweet and tangy as

My favorite of the 3 Vietnamese places we've tried on Kingsland...so far.
While the pho I've had at PPQ and Kevin's in San Francisco are more spiced and herbal, Mien Tay's was cleaner, clearer, but no less flavorful. It just played more on sour than spices.
The showstopper, however, was the fried Sea Bream with Mango. It's a weird choice to flavor a very fresh fish with fermented fish sauce, but it worked. The mango may have been too bland to eat plain, but created a refreshing, tender slaw. And the fish was perfectly fried - the meat was still tender and moist, but most

Well, I wondered what all the hype was all about saying this is the best pho in town. I thought it was just OK. I think our American cousin does it better. The broth here did not provide the punch that I was hoping for. It was normal broth. There was nothing to shout about. I have tried a few in London but Mian Tay is up there but not really 'up' there compared to the real deal. I am still waiting for a Vietnamese restaurant to wow me with the same one that I have eaten in Vietnam. The Vietnamese community here needs to do better. We probably do not have a big enough Vietnamese

Not the cheapest place to get Vietnamese, and the service isn't the best but the food makes this place worth a trip. The spring rolls are beautifully crisp with a delicious filling of moist pork and prawn and come with a generous amount mint and coriander (they could do with more lettuce, but I find this with most Vietnamese places).
The pho is light and fragrant with a great flavour. We also went for the crispy sea bream with mango and fish sauce which was cooked well - crispy skin with succulent flesh that just flakes away from the bone.

Came here for a quick midweek lunch. They have a separate express lunch menu which is incredibly cheap, most expensive dish £7.50, which also comes with complimentary jasmine tea.
I ended up going for the Brisket Pho. The stock packed so much flavour and the quality of the ingredients showed. I was tempted to get a starter of some sort and glad I didn't, as the main dish itself was extremely generous and I wouldn't have be able to eat anything more.
100% worth a visit and good to try at lunch when it isn't as busy. (Visit - Lunch 02/02/2016)

I've eaten at many of the Vietnamese restaurants on Kingsland Road and this has to be one of the top 3 or so.
The staff were very friendly, the portion sizes amazingly generous and the food fresh and flavorful. I would certainly come here again and recommend it to friends looking for a great Pho, crunchy pancake or fresh spring rolls!

I heard so much about this place and I wanted to try it for a long time. We went there on a Thursday night and it was quite full. We had to queue outside for 15 minutes. Finally we got a table (not a really good one, next to the door) and we ordered a couple of dishes. We asked the waitress for their specialities but she wasn't really nice or helpful.
The food was OK. Not a big deal really. Spring rolls as a started and chicken curry with rice for me. I was so hungry that I couldn't tell if the food was excellent (as it said in the front door of the restaurant), but I'm sure it

YES. Best pho I have had in Europe! As a visitor from a California, which has a larger selection of authentic Vietnamese restaurants, I was really missing pho ga that had savory broth and flavorful chicken. This restaurant was delivered from the heavens.
I don't think that my boyfriend and I even talked to each other during the meal - That's how quickly and enthusiastically we were eating! And free shrimp crackers on the table as a starter? Now that's 5 stars.

The place where Chow Yun Fat adorns the window. It's packed nearly every evening with a queue out the door around 7-8pm.
This place understands what customers are looking for. Good value and tasty food. Throwing in some extras like free prawn crackers to start and oranges (decoratively cut) at the end does no harm either!
My favourite meal is the lunch menu Honey BBQ chicken with rice. It comes with a free vegetable soup, that tastes better than it should for that price. Plenty of veg and lots of egg, make this soup a perfect starter. Then the main, the honey glazed grilled pork is just
