With a fleet of over 800 taxis, we are the largest supplier of licensed taxis in Glasgow, Scotland, and the largest in the UK outside London. Nobody knows Glasgow like we do and that means whether you are an individual or a business, large or small, if you're looking for taxis in Glasgow we can provide you with an efficient, reliable taxi service, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Our entire taxi fleet is wheelchair accessible, all our drivers are trained and certified to the highest standards, and as a company we go out of our way to provide the services and quality which will inspire you to come back and use Glasgow Taxis again and again. Services
Taxi services to Glasgow Airport automatically get top priority so you don't need to worry about missing that important flight. Both taxi drivers and taxis undergo rigorous testing to ensure your can have complete trust in Glasgow Taxis. Our business accounts are set up to make billing and admin as easy and fuss-free as possible for you and help you keep on top of your taxi costs.
One of the main events we support is the Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund for Sick Children. This famous children's day out has been run since 1945, started by just three Glasgow taxi drivers and now involving around 150 cabs taking upwards of 400 children with special needs on a festive parade to Troon, complete with fancy dress (for the taxis as well as the drivers!) and lots of treats for the children.
Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is hoping its fundraising efforts will accelerate after finding a new backer in the shape of Glasgow Taxis Ltd. The only charity that provides hospice services in Scotland for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions, CHAS will now enjoy visibility in Glasgow 24 hours a day thanks to a new specially wrapped taxi in bright red brand colours.
Giving real peace of mind for passengers, all Glasgow Taxis drivers must satisfy these PVG scheme standards before we will employ them, and they must complete any further assessments or meet any updates to the PVG scheme as part of their employment. In addition to these background disclosure checks, prior to being granted a licence to drive a taxi in Glasgow, all our drivers require to pass a test of their knowledge of the City.
At Glasgow Taxis we use only taxis built for the purpose and have a rigorous maintenance and cleaning programme to ensure our fleet taxis always meet the highest standards. Our taxi fleet comes under the supervision of Glasgow City Council and all taxis are comprehensively checked biannually to ensure mechanical and safety fitness standards are maintained.

Drivers generally very good but call centre is an absolute waste of space. How on earth can the biggest taxi company in glasgow - not offer a guaranteed pick up at 11pm on a Monday night for a trip to Glasgow Central to catch a train. “Don’t think it will be an issue but can’t guarantee” Pathetic.
**thanks for the reply “owner”
1. when I took my alternative mode of transport (train) - guess what there was a massive queue of (taxis) when I got off the train?
2. Weather? You can usually predict that via forecasts. It’s not a new thing.

My daughter had to get a cab home after work tonight from the city centre to East Kilbride. She was charged £33 which is just ridiculous. I called to enquire if that amount was correct and encountered a very rude member of staff who did not care in the slightest what I thought of that cost. Her attitude was a shocker to be honest. When I said it was no surprise that more people were using private cabs her response in her sarcastic tone was "well, we're still busy despite what you think". We won't be using Glasgow Taxis again!

Fantastic service on Saturday ordered disabled taxis and the driver was so professional. Getting home again we rang the company back up and was prompted to a guy in high Viz jacket and promptly taken to front of rank and taken back to our hotel. Operator was so helpful thank you again

I won’t use anyone else in Glasgow! Not perfect, who is? But 9/10 times, contact staff are simply the nicest, and drivers epitome of friendliness and professionalism. This is especially important to me travelling with a disability. You get what you pay for, and other services just don’t cut it compared to these fab people!

Booked a cab 11 hours in advance, via the mobile app. Booking accepted … but when the time came, no cab appeared. When I called to find out what was going on, I was basically told “yeh, sorry, we don’t have any drivers to do that”.
Why bother with a booking system if it’s simply not going to be honoured? Luckily I wasn’t trying to get anywhere urgently or quickly. If I *do* need to get anywhere urgently or quickly, I will give Glasgow Taxis an extremely wide berth.

Disclaimer: I'm sure that not all taxi drivers here will give the same experience that we had. That said....
We arrived in Glasgow by bus. We had several large bags, and did not know the city when we arrived. We spotted a taxi as we emerged from the station. We then told him where we were going, and we were off. After driving what seemed to be circles for about 15 minutes, I asked how much further it was to our hotel. The driver didn't answer, but instead asked where we were from. We told him we were from Massachusetts. I few minutes later, we arrived at our hotel. I looked at the meter

My wife and I made a trip to Glasgow in part to find some gaps in our family history. The Glasgow Taxi Company went out of their way to find some background information and locations to assure the tour they provided was beyond our expectations. We couldn't be happier with the services provided by Glasgow Taxi.

I am pretty loyal to my local taxi company so don't find myself using Black Hacks very often. We grabbed one to come home from the city centre on Saturday night as it just happened to be going past. Firstly, I do like the seating of a black hack as it's like something from a movie (from someone who lived in Australia for 26 years). I only ever sit facing forward though because of travel sickness.
We live outside of Glasgow so have to pay a boundary charge. I'd heard in the papers that this was being scrapped but it's actually only scrapped if you make a phone booking, so

Perhaps I shouldnt rate in anger...or when I'm hungry but I'm a little preturbed by the glasgow taxi's 'priority' system. Apparently a public place is lower ranked...( apparently public means at the end of a dead end road at night)..if i had known this and had been told they were busy or that I would be waiting 30 and counting minutes then I would have definitely called another company that doesn't use an automated system to tell me 'unfortunately we haven't managed to get you a taxi yet'. Not amused

Taxi required now.......must be of a fair size to allow me to throw a couple o' boxes in it and still have space for my fair sized self (becoming fairer and fairer sized as the years pass...)
Theses guys are pretty damn reliable. Quick call, info taken, car dispatched and call back given, even to a mobile, which is quite rare i find....
The cabs (black traditional stylee) are in most cases well kept and fairly new. The service and friendliness varies as much as the Scottish weather, but hey.....sometimes i don't need the banter...i just want the lift!!
Aye so......quick, reliable.

This review is really for tourists, because if you live here, you'll know all about the system of Glasgow taxis (you know, unless you live under a rock). The system for getting one of these taxis is pretty much the same as in London, Edinburgh, or any other city that boasts hackney cabs.
1. Decide whether you want to go to a taxi rank or just cross your fingers and wait at the side of a road. Taxi ranks are more reliable but have bigger queues. The choice is yours.

A well-known and reputable hackney taxicab company in Glasgow, if you live here you'll recognise the logo.
Ubiquitous on a Friday and Saturday night, they're a bit of a hybrid between a hackney pick-up company and a private hire. (Meaning you can call them to pick you up as well as just hailing one from the street.) The meter is a bit steeper than your typical private hire, but with 5- and 6-seaters, you can all pile in and split the fare. The queues at key areas in town can be pretty horrendous, but I've often wandered down Ingram St or Bath St and managed to pile in as someone

Glasgow Taxis provide a nice prominent service in and around Glasgow, (as the name implies).
I generally use Glasgow taxis for getting into town for a night out, or if there's a few of us heading to the airport (5 people in a 6 seater taxi works out cheaper than the bus fare, and takes half the time). On and Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to pay nearly double the usual fare (I believe it's now over £4 standing charge), but generally, I tend to walk/stumble back to the West End with friends, unless I'm by myself, and then I brave the huuuuuuge queues on Sauchiehall street
