Total rubbish place now. Note that it has moved and downsized, that includes the menu which is now almost half the size it used to be.
Most staff are not wearing masks and the self service spoons are not cleaned. There was only one hand sanatizer at entrance. I'm firmly of the mind it's not covid safe.
Ordered 1.5l jug and got a 2 pint jug (about 1.1l) had to ask for it to be changed.
Vastly reduced menu meant choices are not what they used to be.
Bill included service charge which we were not told about and had to be refunded.
Compared to other all you can eat buffets this is now bottom of

Smaller choice of food in the new venue. We asked for a jug of squash which was advertised at 1.5ltr but were given a 2 pint jug instead (1.1 litre). For £3.99 a jug I think I should be given the advertised amount. They also added a 'service charge' to the bill and did not tell us. We noticed and asked for the money back. We were not asked if we wanted to pay this. There is only 1 hand stantising station in the whole restaurant, near the entry and exit, none near the food or tables. The chefs cooking also did not wear face masks. Would not recommend.

Went to Jimmy spices today with a friend, all the desserts were empty at 7pm & staff behind the counter were hiding the new selection. There were no knives & forks on our table & i leant across another table to get a knife & fork - the girl at the table service shouted across & said what are you doing someone is sitting there. I did not realise… there were coats on the chairs and said I did not realise just needed some knives & fork which there looked like there was 20 in their table & none in ours. Really rude table service. Also we were put in a section where

Jimmy's, this was opened in the new location in Oct 2021, I must say this is a lot better than the previous one. The food is good (than any other usual buffet), lots of non veg options, less for veg. They have live counters for noodles, Dosa, naan and grill for fish, meat and Paneer. Naan was the best one I had ever in UK. Most of the items in the menu are Indian. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean. It was crowded when I visited on a Friday evening.

We visited since the re-opening and the new restaurant is gorgeous! Just next door to the old one. The new layout is much better and the food is fab!! I think it's great value for money considering half of the menu is freshly cooked for you exactly how you want it!
I think the dessert selection could be greater though. We look forward to going back!

The new venue is nicely done, it's clean and stylish. However, the tables are far too close together. You're virtually sitting on each other. I didn't even have enough room between myself and the table behind to pull my chair out properly. Also, I found the staff to be quite rude and not at all friendly or particularly welcoming. There was the odd staff member that was OK, but generally not so. The food was very nice. I don't think there was any where near as much choice as there used to be. I also think it is quite expensive really and drinks are extortionate. It's so hot in there also. I certainly

Jimmy Spices isn’t the easiest to find due to poor labelling around the place but presumably this is a work in progress. We went at lunchtime, being seated in the corner by the window and had to ask someone to clean the table, which basically set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Aesthetically the place has been done up tastefully and is very pleasing to the eye. Though with the cleanliness of the tables when it wasnj’t even that busy, I worry about the dust with all the ‘greenery’ hanging from the ceilings over the tables.
The options at lunchtime are VERY limited...the only live station

I do love a selection of food and you definitely have this when you come here. I had a selection of everything from the curry to the lasagne and pizza, chicken wings and ribs.
The food isn't amazing but if you want a bit of everything it's ok, I do enjoy coming here but not for the quality of the food just the quantity and the ice cream after with pancakes.

Probably the worst concept in the British Isles, not just as a restaurant but everything, ever including The Daewoo Nexia CDXi.
The manager of a restaurant that serves jelly babies as a desert should surely be banned from the catering industry or even sent to prison (not open) with a minimum term of 6 months.
Would be more than happy to pursue this further if anyone else feels the same?

Erm.... I'm not entirely sure what all the fuss is about with this place. The building seems to be the wrong way around, the windows all face the back of another building (yawn) whilst on the windowless side would be the canal views :/
There is plenty to choose from and something for everyone however the food is below average, the bread and pizza slice were like cardboard, on the other hand the chicken tikka was delightful. I won't be rushing back but I wouldn't say no if it was suggested.

I know buffet food is the most glamorous lunches or dinners to have but you can't deny how popular Jimmy Spices is with Birmingham. The restaurant has recently expanded there seating area and can now host several large parties at once. When I went on a Saturday night there were 4 hen parties and plenty of other large groups.
What Jimmy Spices offers that I've notices other buffet restaurants don't is more fish dishes. Often when you go to Indian restaurants or have takeaway is predominantly meat dishes, this is a shame as fish pakoras and masala fish are really good dishes that

This is the place to go if everyone is too picky on what to eat, they have everything here so pleases everyone.
Obviously it's not as high quality food as if you go in a restaurant. Sometimes the food tastes bland or too salty. That's because they cook big portions of stuff, so some food might be overcooked.
I do enjoy their starters and currys. Overall it's good place for groups and service is good.

My first time here this evening and it was a decent visit - although I won't be rushing back. The place is a collection of different cookery theatre style buffets from around the world including Indian and Chinese, British, Mexican and a salad bar. There is even a dedicated dessert station.
The friend I visited with said they've had a bit of a refurb and change around. Which has improved the place dramatically by all accounts. The staff seemed speedy, friendly and eager to help.
Top marks for service but the quality of the food lets the place down a bit.

This place is expensive for the standard of food they offer.
I sampled some of the Chinese food and it was just not great at all, sweet and sour chicken and stir fried veg. The prawn crackers were fine.
The Indian seemed to be slightly better. The poppadoms were slightly stale. The chicken used in the tikka masala had some pieces of joint/gristle that I chewed on. I hate chewing on gristle.
I then tried some steamed basmati with some biryani gravy and a naan. This was more palatable, so I got a little more of that to line my stomach.
I then had a ice cream cone for dessert. It was fun pulling

Try finding a restaurant that can seat a group of 50, at relatively short notices, and which won't cost the world...it's not that easy! I visited Birmingham with my university's music society for a weekend, and we struggled to find anywhere we could all eat together. Until we visited Jimmy Spices.
Despite there being a couple of other big groups booked at various times, they found us a slot and did us a decent-ish deal. And when we rocked up, the tables were (nearly) ready for us too, and the staff were friendly enough.
Plus, the buffet concept works wonderfully for large groups

I gave this 3/5 stars because it was "A-OK". Nothing horrific, nothing amazing. Just okay. I had some things I noticed, but 3 is for it being multi-cuisine. People, when you can't figure out what you wanna do! You can com check this place out!
Thanks to Hitesh C. (from Birmingham, UK)! He recommended that I check out this place after seeing where in Birmingham I was staying from one of my reviews.
This is a Multi-Cuisine (i.e. Chinese, Italian, Indian, and Thai Cuisine Buffet.)
Their Sunday through Wednesday rate for one adult is 12.99 GBP.

For when you absolutely, positively have to eat til you can barely move, Jimmy Spice's buffet works offers great value and reasonable quality food. There is a great selection of Italian, Indian, Thai and Chinese dishes including starters and main courses. There is oodles of room, which makes it a good place for office bashes, especially given the variety on offer here.
Being so close to Broad Street, Jimmy Spices has a tendency to fill up and get a little noisy in the evening. Definitely not somewhere to have a quiet meal and drinks with someone you're trying to impress with a knowledge
