Stonehayes Farm has five beautiful cottages in Devon that sleep 4-14 guests for idyllic country holidays. Once part of a busy working farm in the Blackdown Hills near Honiton in East Devon, our gorgeous 14th century thatched farmhouse and centuries old barns have been carefully renovated to combine rustic charm and original features with up-to-the-minute facilities.

Rent our country cottages for family holidays and short breaks, for cosy weekends away, corporate breaks and refined hen weekends. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity, the far-reaching views of softly rolling hills and open fields; most of the time all you can hear is birdsong and the occasional tractor chugging up the lane.
Services
Tucked away in the glorious countryside of East Devon, Stonehayes Farm is everything that a rural retreat should be; it's lovely and peaceful, but not so far from civilisation that you have to drive miles to get anywhere. Honiton is only a couple of miles away, with supermarkets, a mix of big name and independent shops, a bustling weekly market, and some very good places to eat.
We love our little corner of the world! Within just a few miles of our family friendly Devon holiday cottages you'll find there's a multitude of things to see and do - we like to think of it as a mixed bag, with something for everyone because in this neck of the woods there are fantastic family attractions, beaches, museums and galleries, activities to do, towns to browse, and of course acres of glorious rolling countryside to explore.

Started off well with a friendly introduction however there was no handwash provided and 1 loo roll provided for a week's stay. WiFi was extremely poor and the host tried to charge us extra money for 'laundry charges' as there was an expectation for the bedding to be washed, dried and ready as we found it for the next guest before check out at 10am?! I am baffled how this would be expected of us for our stay... I would have hoped that the guests before didn't do that as the total cost of the holiday accommodation+ deposit should cover cleaning costs. the laundry shouldn't be expected of guests

10 of us stayed between Dippers Rest and Wagtail Corner in July 2021
Positives: The setting was beautiful with amazing views. There's plenty to do in the area (Exeter, South Coast beaches etc). The two houses had spacious living areas and were generally finished to a high standard. The outdoor areas were very nice and had solid furniture and nice equipment for kids. The communal games room is also a nice touch.
Negatives: Several of us found the mattresses uncomfortable with some struggling to sleep. The fridge/freezers were small for the property sizes (beware doing the online shop prior to

Spacious is an understatement. 15 of us stayed for a long weekend and we had plenty of room. Long walks through the country are a must, and take a camera, the views are stunning in all directions. The games room kept us all entertained with table tennis, table football and pool/snooker. About half an hour drive to Lyme Regis or Sidmouth.Thoroughly recommend and will stay here again!

Very spacious accommodation for 6 of us in 'Dippers Rest', lots of outside space as well. Very comfortable modern interiors in characterful old buildings. Our second stay and can't wait to book again. Very helpful and welcoming host.

Amazing trip to Stonehayes farm. We stayed in Wagtail corner which was amazing for a family of 2+3, plenty of space, sparkling clean. We were greeted by a homemade chocolate cake, such a lovely touch! Very close to amazing attractions for kids such as Wildwood escot (highly recommend!!) The only downside was a rather limited food options in the nearby town of Honiton (possibly due to Covid). Not many pubs offered take away service.

Absolutely stunning accommodation. The cottages are quite modern and rustic at the same time while the farm itself is dated back to 1470. There's lots of space for kids to run about, massive trampoline, soccer field and play room with pool, football and table tennis. Lots of attractions in close proximity makes it just a perfect holiday home.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The cottages are comfortable and have everything you need (really appreciated the Method hand wash!). Games rooms is fun for children and adults alike. The surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful and gave me Far From The Madding Crowd realness. My family and I really recommend this for a calming, rural holiday. Don't forget to check out Powderham Castle whilst you're there :)
