Services
We have three children, Olivia 27, Charlotte 25 and Harry 22. We met whilst working in London, Lorna for the London Stock Exchange and Alistair as a senior executive in hi-tech firms. Lorna and Alistair, as well as running Higher Wiscombe, manage the Professional Association of Self-Caterers UK Ltd.
We were really pleased to see the Chancellor reduce VAT to 5% and have taken this into account in our forward pricing. We have also got new Terms and Conditions for future bookings, you can link to them here. These allow for full refunds if your booking date covers a period that either you or Higher Wiscombe goes into a Government Lockdown.
Thatched is a beautiful Five Star Gold contemporary thatched barn conversion which sleeps 6 in 3 ensuite bedrooms. Two can be super-king doubles or 3' twins with modern wet-rooms and one is a 5' four poster complete with a roll. Flint is a beautiful Five Star Gold contemporary cottage which sleeps 6 in 3 ensuite bedrooms.
EX24 6JF is a huge postcode and some SatNav systems WILL take you to the wrong property, or deep into Southleigh Valley where there is a poor phone signal. To avoid getting lost at the very end of your journey please read the following tips. The best tip is to use your Sat Nav or road map to get you to Honiton, on the A30 in Devon.

We have just returned from a lovely break at the Thatched Barn. Beautiful surroundings, lovely accommodation, very relaxing and just so nice to be somewhere with such a commitment to the environment. The recycling centre was a dream!

A fantastic place to stay at the Old Winery for our 60th birthday celebration. Well equipped and comfy good quality furnishings. Owners very helpful and great area to visit. Everyone commented how lovely it was. Slight disappointment was the pool wasn't available as the weather was perfect. Dog friendly too which was a bonus and great idea with the dog hamper!! Would highly recommend 😀

We are couple with 3 young children, and I have to say that my holiday in Higher Wiscombe was worth every penny.
For someone who is used to city life, it was like being on a different planet for 2 weeks. I had no fears sending my kids out on their own to play on the fields, the whole area was just a big beauty in the heart of nature.
Alistair and Lorna are very friendly, and were helping us with all the interesting places in the area we should make sure to visit.
Area is fabulous for kids, lots to do!!

Another wonderful holiday at Higher Wiscombe; from the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and at home. The bathrooms were the best I have ever seen in a holiday cottage. Everything had been thought of and there was no expense spared. Lorna and Alistair are a lovely couple who deserve to succeed. We have already booked to go back for what will be our sixth visit. We cannot wait.
