St John's Nursery has been registered since 1981 and is a Charity Committee run provision, which is made up of parents whom work with the staff ensuring the highest level of care and education is offered to each child. Our ethos is based on the understanding that children are their own educators - natural learners with ability, curiosity and imagination.
Caterpillars are our 2-3 year olds are in every session and mixed in with our 3-4 year olds. During the session children have small group work where they are age appropriate and/or level of ability according to their progress development stage. Butterflies: are our 3-4 year olds are in every session and are in this group until they leave to join mainstream school.
We provide children with a hot, delicious and nutritious meal. We have the meals delivered by a specailist company. The dishes are freshly prepared on the day of delivery and contain only high quality, fresh ingredients. The menus provide the essential food groups and meet the dietary needs of growing children.
We have a uniform of sweatshirts and T-shirts with the nursery's name on, that we ask all children to wear. These, plus additional items, such as legionnaire cap and book bag are available for purchase through the nursery. So to avoid any upsetting accidents, we ask that they are dressed suitably for play and ease of using the toilet.
St John's Nursery Group is a registered charity. It doesn't operate to make a profit, and all surpluses generated go towards improving the equipment and environment and towards enhancing the stability of the nursery. The Nursery is run by a Voluntary Management Committee made up of parents and parents of former nursery attendees.

We sent our Son to this nursery, it is quite honestly, hands down , the best nursery we have ever used, and we have used a few in the area. The staff are all totally brilliant, they are all so invested in the children and the success of the nursery, everyone works as a team and there is never any feeling that things are not totally under control. Linda is an amazing leader, the communication from nursery to home is amazing. 👍👍😁
Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, it's just a shame that our son is now moving on to school and we don't have any more children to send

Great learning environment. When I turned up fir my original visit the staff never rushed me. The staff are parents themselves so they understand what we as parents go through. My daughter loves it here and that’s what counts. She’s happy, she talks about her day, she goes in happy and comes out happy. I have seen my daughter grown in confidence since she’s been at the nursery.
Don’t take my word for it... see for yourself.
