Burgh Wood Montessori Nursery School's mission is to provide quality education in an environment which fosters a child's love and learning and a respect for self, others, the community and the world. We are commited to providing a nurturing and secure environment which promotes the development of each child physically, emotionally, socially, as well as academically.

We are a dedicated team of professionals who all have children of our own, so we understand. Jo holds the Montessori Diploma Qualification to compliment her BA (Hons) Degree and has worked with children and families in various establishments for many years.

Jo's career history prior to taking time out to raise her two children involved working in the City, being actively involved with various charities and running a Beaver group for girls and boys in London.It has always been a dream of Jo's to run her own Montessori school and to provide a stimulating and happy environment for children to learn and play.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fullfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child's experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right.

Burgh Wood Bear Forest School aims to foster learning in the outdoor environment whatever the weather except high winds and thunderstorms with exploration of the natural world. It was part of Maria Montessori's vision to encourage the development of the knowledge and understanding of the world one of her key areas of learning outcomes.

We've been really impressed with everything we've seen so far. The girls have both settled in really well, the staff are friendly, kind and warm and the management is organised and very communicative with parents which is great. The school trip was a huge hit and the plans to continue to develop the curriculum and the preschool offering are very encouraging.
