We have been to Jashans a few times as a family and have always had a good experience. However this evening was disappointing. The heating was not on and the restaurant was really cold. The food was ok but some of the dishes were luke warm and there was a delay with getting the rice. The waitress was pleasant and helpful but overall there appeared to be some staff issues.

Entered restaurant with 1 table occupied. Left standing at door for minutes, and eventually sat ourselves down. Staff then told us that most tables were fully booked for 2 and a 1/2hrs later! Can't sit on a 4 table, but was guided to another 4 by the window, presumably to help make the venue look open. Waited half an hour for a drink order and 15mins for a starter. 1 hour after arriving received a starter.
Eventually got mains, and they got one wrong. On leaving was issued the wrong bill. The previous clients had left, but they managed to give the wrong bill. They argued that the order was correct

Terrible, lamb tikka jalfrezi was stupidity small portion (the takeaway portion is bigger for 1/3 less of the price) the sauce was reduced far too much.
The Nan was tiny, especially considering it cost £3.95! Nearly 4 quid is a lot to charge for bread, you gotta be confident to charge that, but no - it was bog standard.
Look, it's basically a takeaway now.
I was the best only customer sitting in.
They could easily turn this around, by having a menu dedicated to sit in service only.
But, and judging by the dishes offered, they lack that ability.

This was my first time from this place, since I stay nearby so opted for the take away. We had the Bhuna chicken with garlic nan and peshawari nan. I can say by far it was the best Indian food we had in Edinburgh in the last 1 year. The quantity is sufficient for two people and the food was delicious and piping hot. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Food was not good at all I wish I went esle where I came to Scotland for a few days trip decided to eat form this place I wish I didn't. Plus the prices for eating in are unbelievable its cheaper to order on just eat and get it delivered and no wonder there was only 2 customers eating in. I'm glad I live in birmingham the worst place in birmingham is better then this place.

Disappointing meal after having ordered from them for a number of years. We have found recently that it is definitely a hit or a miss - sometimes lovely, other times not. Especially when it comes to the heat of the dishes - I think it must depend on the chef how hot they decide to make things. The rice was microwaved and lumpy. A shame, but think we'll be taking our business elsewhere for a while.

It would have been great had I actually had the chance to eat the food, having placed an order via just eat, and having a confirmation email via just eat, my food didn’t arrive at my house. Moreover, when I called restaurant, they had no order details. Absolute shambles. My wife had told me not to order from them because of previous disappointment but I gave benefit of doubt. My bad. Never again and what’s more I’ll ensure I tell everyone I know if this dreadful experience.

Ordered via Jashans own webisite at 4.40. Ordered arrived at 6.30.
Two items missing, ice cream and popadoms.
I was told I would receive a voucher for missing items but I refused that.
I was then told the ice cream is no longer available.
Order was £38.85 so I was offered a £10 refund.
I can’t trust this company.
Food is back in the bag for driver to collect and a refund is expected within a couple of days.
I will wait in hope.

Jashans it is you, not me. Over the last few weeks I have been making an effort to try new and different curry places, sadly this has had a knock on effect. Jashans just isn't as good as many of the options on Gorgie or Dalry road, which are both easily within walking distance and deliver to the area. I'm going to do a bit of a deconstruction, so here are the places that for me Jashans has got it wrong:
1. The takeaway set meal - normal practice, if a set meal is offered in an Indian is to provide a starter, a classic curry (the ones everyone has heard of) and some sort of rice or nan

Very disappointed in this Indian Restaurant, looks lovely from outside but when you get inside its a different story. Normally in an Indian Restaurant there is a lovely atmosphere with nice background music. We were sat at a table for 2 right at the back beside the kitchen. I was facing a wall which had swing doors to the kitchen.
The waiting staff had no customer service at all, no table manners and got our order wrong.
There were 2 flies flying around which landed on my boyfriends head. Hopefully they didn't land on food in kitchen. They had a trolley to collect dishes which was constantly

We recently moved to this part of town and are venturing to try to find our new local spots for lazy night take out. I love Indian and would argue it is something that never tastes the same at home, but my experience at Jashans made me think differently. We called on a Friday night, and granted, probably the busiest night for take-out, but there phone manor was very rushed and not very organised, as my boyfriend was passed to two different people, and then someone tried to dial out while we were on the line. They said delivery would take an hour, so we opted to collect it, as I was to hungry to

It was sunday night, it was late, it was cold, it had been snowing on and off all weekend, neither me or my boyfriend could face cooking dinner so we decided to finally try jashans which had opened up down the street from his flat a number of months ago. we phoned our order in and headed over to pick it up.
i was a bit shocked entering the restaurant itself, as it really rather quite posh looking. all rich sumptious colours and dark wooden tables. i was definitely impressed, perhaps less so when we had at least three different waiters come up to us to ask what our take away order was. um we

I do love this place but I'm only going for 4 stars as this review is based on takeaway, not the full restaurant experience.
It has been opened now for about a year and replaced Oscars on Slateford Road. There is a restaurant which seems to do pretty good business. I popped in before 7 on a Friday for a takeaway and it was pretty full which is always a good sign, with lots of other popping in to collect takeaway too.
Their takeaways are awesome. First visit at New Years was for meal deal for 2 and we added extra bits (pakora, naan, extra rice) on to make it a meal for 3 - seriously, there
