Very close to the quaint twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, Woodlands is peaceful, surrounded by nature and simply the perfect place for couples to retreat. This beautiful detached Victorian property was originally built in 1882 for a wealthy London gentleman and his family. The house has enjoyed a very interesting history including ownership by the Church, a private school for evacuees in the WW2, a hotel in the 1960s.
Woodlands is a 4.5* rated Fully Licenced Bed and Breakfast with 3 contemporary high standard first floor bedrooms with wet rooms. Just a ten minute walk from Lynton, it is peaceful, quiet, relaxed and friendly. Private parking is free. Woodlands is very popular with walkers wishing to explore the many delights that Exmoor and the North Devon coastline has to offer.

Services
As well as being joint owner of Woodlands with Steve, Lesley is a health and fitness professional and is a fully qualified personal trainer and sports massage therapist. She is also passionate about healthy eating and, as an independent Natural Juice Therapist, encourages and demonstrates to people how to include nutritious juices and smoothies as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The North Devon coastline is beautiful and very rugged and the area in which Lynton and Lynmouth is located is especially hilly, hence it's Victorian name of "Little Switzerland". It is a wonderful place to spend a holiday yet for those suffering from cardiac and or respiratory issues, the general topography may prove challenging.
From Junction 23 (Bridgwater) - the takes the longest time (over 2 hours to reach Lynton). 2. From Junction 25 (Taunton) - taking the A358 to Minehead and joining the A39 to Lynmouth. This is a lovely scenic route in daylight via Porlock (which has a very steep and windy hill) and across Exmoor by the coast.
Our flagship super king-sized room with large Victorian balcony overlooking beautiful woodland - simply divine. Features include a luxury contemporary wet room with underfloor heating, luxurious bath towels and complementary toiletries as well as its very own mini bar. All rooms come with mineral water and tea tray with specialist teas, TV and hi-speed WiFi.
As well as things to do locally in Lynton, North Devon has plenty of attractions for you to experience whilst you enjoy your stay at Woodlands. These may all be accessed directly from Woodlands via the Lynway - a footpath with stunning views that can be accessed directly from the rear of our property.

Stayed a couple of nights at this B&B early July. Very nice spacious room with comfortable beds, a lot of thought has obviously been taken with the decor.
Breakfast had to be ordered the night before from a very varied menu, (think this is a covid thing rather than the norm), & was very good. We were offered dinner on our 2nd night, but declined as we weren't sure when we'd be back.
The owners, Steve & Lesley, are very friendly & helpful, I was taken ill during our day out & was still feeling unwell at breakfast next day, Lesley rang her GP for advice (go to A&E), then Steve rang my friend later

Steve and Lesley are the most wonderful friendly hosts, Woodlands is simply stunning. Lovely big rooms with the comfiest beds you can imagine and gorgeous peaceful setting. Ask Lesley for directions to the wild swim spot and treat yourself to one of her amazing massages, or enjoy the many local walks and coastline. Steve is an excellent chef and the breakfasts are sensational, can't wait to him to launch 'Steve's Supperclub' which will be a set menu restaurant experience, brilliant!

My wife and I have visited Woodlands before and thoroughly enjoyed it, we returned this year and the owners, Steve and Lesley, greeted us like old friends!
It is a impressive Victorian house that is presented beautifully. Our room was immaculate and had a lovely view across the valley.
For breakfast I had the 'full English' whilst my wife had scrambled eggs and bacon. Both were individually prepared and a absolute treat to eat. The surrounding area is stunning with wonderful walks and beautiful sea views. We will definitely go back!
