An Italian restaurant in Lancashire that's cosy and full of original rustic charm. La Locanda is located in the tiny village of Gisburn and nestled within Lancashire's wonderful Ribble Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The restaurant accommodates around 40 people, with a small bar and dining area downstairs, and a pleasantly welcoming restaurant on the first floor.
Owners, Cinzia and Maurizio Bocchi migrated from Italy's Lake Maggiore to the beautiful county of Lancashire over 20 years ago. They head up a small but passionate team of almost all Italian staff, eager to bring you a true taste of Italy.

Services
Over the years of owning their restaurant in Lancashire's Ribble Valley, Cinzia and Maurizio have formed good friendships and alliances with many local food and drink producers, and suppliers. In fact, one of the reasons they actually first decided to settle and open the restaurant in Lancashire was because of the profusion of fabulous produce they found when they first moved here.

Meal time in Italy is a really important part of the day; it's an occasion to socialise and relax, and a meal can often take four hours, or even longer when it's a special occasion and there's lots of chatting between courses. Italians love to savour the flavour and tastes of their food, and consider eating as an experience to be enjoyed, associating good food with all of the special occasions in life.

There are a lot of Italian places in San Luis Obispo, but this one is my favorite. Their burrata is second to none and their lasagna is always good. The vibe is very low key and homely which I kind of love; there's no pretentiousness in this place. It's also almost never busy so getting a table is easy.

My favorite spot in SLO. A small intimate and authentic Italian place. You will likely be served by the wonderful Lucas who will make you want to come back before you even get your food. They always have unique specials however you can never go wrong with their signature lasagna that will melt in your mouth with every bite.

Don’t come here for the ambiance or on a hungry stomach. I should’ve taken photos from the moment I walked up to the door I had a bad feeling. The door had a faded and dated look. The menu’s looked like they were printed on construction paper. Half of the utensils had to be sent back because they were dirty. As to the food it was edible that’s all I have to say about that. Left hungry and disappointed

Off the beaten path quaint, homie restaurant. We were greeted and seated by the owner. We had the caprese salad, lasagna and eggplant. The mozzarella was home made and delicious. Unlike so many restaurants that use a house sauce on much of their dishes, the sauces on both of our dishes were distinctively different and amazing. We will definitely eat there on or next trip to SLO!

Easy-going ambiance coupled with a creative and delicious menu and ample wine list makes La Locanda a favorite destination in San Luis Obispo. The butternut ravioli (Raviola di Zucca) presented with a hint of almond flavor and maybe just a a light honey glaze in the butter and sage finish that was almost like treating yourself to dessert BEFORE indulging in an ample slice of tiramasu with fresh raspberries and blackberries. Whew! And while I love eggplant in just about any vegetarian dish, La Locanda presents a thinly-sliced, amply-layered eggplant parmesan ( Melanzane Parmigiana) with a perfectly
