The Sparrowhawk
Located on the fringe of the Pendle Forest in the heart of Pennines, Lancashire is the beautiful 17th century treasure, The Sparrow Hawk in Fence. Originally thought to be a farmstead it boasts a famous stained glass dome whose origins are not quite clear, but whose splendour remains non the less.

With suppliers supporting our ethos to source the majority of our produce from the local area our menus reflect the diversity and flavours of Lancashire and the surrounding areas. Our skilled kitchen team then create a wide selection of dishes designed to suit both traditional and contemporary tastes which have been recognised through our achievement of the Taste Lancashire Highest Quality Assured accreditation.

Great setting, lovely building. Good beer, food really let's it down.. never had a good meal and I'm not overly fussy. Just seems to be bland and poor quality.. I might have just been unlucky... Staff are very nice.

The meal was really delicious compliments to the chef. The staff are very polite and helpful but also enjoy a little banter with customers. Will be coming again

First time eating a steak in a restaurant... and it was steak night!! Loved it, very tasty and the house red that came with it was also very nice. Good service and very cosy with the real fire burning.

Great food at decent prices, nice atmosphere. Shame about the locals and some staff. We had a lovely meal for my birthday but there's no designated smoking area outside so the locals just cluster around the door so you walk through the fog. And one of the waiting staff made a joke at my friend's expense which I'm sure he thought was innocent. Also if the old couple serving behind the bar could not have faces like thunder... That might help. But I recap: good food at good prices.

A pleasant and relaxing environment, friendly and attentive staff. Appropriate health and safety measures and plenty of space available. Prompt service though at slightly above average service costs. Definitely recommend!
