A bit of an disappointing visit today. After a lovely ramble around Stocks Reservoir, we decided to drop by for a quick drink and snack.
Having visited before, we knew they had a nice selection of brews from local brewery's. I was personally impressed by their cider selection.
Upon ordering our drinks, we get a 2/3 and a pint no problem, all be it a bit alive with the 2/3. On a separate transaction, we try and order a portion of the Bacon Loaded Fries and a pint of the Raspberry with Cucumber Cider, to be promptly asked if we have a table reserved. Apparently, they are not able to serve food

Watch out for the car parking fees. I understand that people park there and go off into town for hours but I only spent time at Holmes Mill and spent money whilst there. I was not aware of the extra fee for the parking, I would have paid it if I had known. I received a fine from a parking management company so I contacted Holmes mill and asked to… be contacted by a member of their management team, I was told that this would happen, it never has and whilst waiting for somebody to contact me to help sort it out, the fine has been increased. Would not visit again.

Absolutely fantastic place. What a fantastic idea. The deli shop is outstanding, a perfect place to pick up a variety of cheese, wine and other interesting ingredients before taking a seat at the circle bar to enjoy the deli boards (we had baked Camembert and mixed charcuterie) and a bottle of wine. You can select from the menu or purchase a bottle from the shop and pay a reasonable corkage charge of £6 which is what we chose to do. Such a great atmosphere and we really enjoyed our afternoon here. Also had a couple of drinks in the Beer Hall which was fantastic. We'll definitely visit again soon

Superb accomodation. Excellent beer. We were on a Beercation stay deal, which meant that we ate in the Beer Hall. The menu was not extensive but what we got was good. The wine was on the expensive side but was VG quality. Visiting the cinema on the site added to the pleasure. Breakfast in the bistro was excellent. All told, the 4 in our party felt that we had had a good experience. Car parking was not ideal, though we found some nearby on-street parking after a period on a nearby car park.

I visited Holmes mill for drinks and the cinema, being winter it was dark and very wet. Given the prices of both I spent over £60, a week later I receive a parking fine for £100 this is for staying 1.5hrs over the free 3hrs in which I didn’t even know you needed to pay for not seeing any signs or payment metres! I ran from car trying to stay dry… and not looking like a drown rat! The price of the place itself is enough without being slapped with a huge parking fine! I emailed and explained the circumstances in which Holmes mill will not do a thing! I’ll not be returning

Great little hidden gem. I was recommended to visit by a friend. Had a spot of lunch and bought myself and my partner some lovely treats, some I've not seen anywhere else. I had a pot of tea and a cheese… ploughman's. I got confused how to go about getting food as did not state on the menu how to order but I was given help by the lovely ladies working there. All in all a great experience and will visit again when I'm in the area.

This review is strictly for the food hall. The beer hall to be fair is great and has a lot of beer and cider selection. I wanted to put a review of their food y'all though since it's a pretty big part.
The food hall has a lot of local products- cheese, meats, sweets and other delicacies. You won't find what they sell in other stores, but it's pretty pricey. The food hall also has a cafe and tapas/wine bar. The cafe has a lot of bake goods. The bake goods aren't very good to be honest. I bought the key lime cheesecake, passion fruit tart and hummingbird cake.

It could be my Lancashire roots calling out for a Cotton Mill, but I think this place is stunning. It's a real ale bar of epic scale with its own enormous brewery dominating the main hall, but the highlight for most people is the original mill building and machinery. These are not decorations or an applied theme but the real workings of this cotton mill. Parts reminded me of a trip to Manchesters Museum of Science and Industry, with splendid iron wheels, pistons and cables.
Contrasted with modern furniture and funky light fittings this is a real treat.
Onto the drinks. .. the bar is
