I have two daughters at Rydes Hill. They are 9 and 8.
Here are a few words I would use to describe a Rydes Hill pupil: confident, polite, kind, well educated, a good sport, a team player (whether that be in sports, music or drama, or all of those).
The teachers make a huge effort with each child, because they believe that each child can reach… their true potential and if they are not quite on the right track, they will find the right track for them. Communication with parents, between teachers and the headmistress (Mrs Norville) is excellent.
Most importantly, Rydes Hill, has a heart.

I have two children at Rydes Hill, and this is my family’s 5th year at the school. I just see them blossoming academically and socially each year! The school has an amazing combination of academics and pastoral care, as well as a host of extracurricular activities. My children have both been able to explore art, music and drama. I can’t recommend the school enough!

My daughter has been at Rydes since she was 3 and is now in year 5. We love the caring, family atmosphere and the extra efforts they make, such as doing a dairy free day to make children with food allergies feel understood. She is the youngest in the class and has always been strongly supported if she needed any extra help.

As a mother whose little girl is the happiest she’s ever been, I cannot recommend Rydes Hill Prep School enough. My daughter is flourishing in this family-oriented, loving environment, where she is being nurtured and encouraged to be the best she can be. A wonderful school in the heart of Guildford.

As a former pupil of Rydes Hill I couldn't resist the opportunity of attending an Open day to look around the school again. As soon as I stepped over the threshold I was greeted with the same values and nurturing environment that I myself had experienced and I knew I had to place my daughter here. Having attended since nursery she has gone from strength to strength and developed the confidence to tackle new challenges head on. The small size of the year groups ensure that each child is known to the staff and peers alike. I can not fault the dedication and care shown by the teachers. The girls at

Rydes Hill is a beautiful unique school. My daughter is currently at the school and is thriving with all the support she is given. The children have strong morals and respect and it is clear to see that love and kindness are given a high priority in the school. The school is small but it’s lovely that every teacher knows my daughters name. My daughter is sporty, and I am thrilled with the opportunities she has from cross country to gymnastics with many after school club available. Ballet and Drama play a key part in the school and we have been so pleased with the quality of the lessons. And how

It is a huge privilege to be a Governor at Rydes Hill. It is such a special place. There is a lovely atmosphere in the school - everyone seems truly happy and there are always lots of smiling faces. The pupils are a delight and clearly benefit from the dedication shown by the staff who are really committed and talented. The pupils achieve great things in and out of the classroom. Rydes Hill gives them a wonderful grounding in all respects.
