Footprints is an Ofsted 2019 'Outstanding' children's day nursery based in West Horsley, Surrey. Our beautiful nursery facilities are spacious, purpose built and set in the midst of the countryside, we offer children the chance to grow and develop at one with nature. The nursery takes children from birth to five years old and is open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
All our children, from the youngest baby to the most confident four year old, will benefit from the Montessori philosophy. Our team of qualified, friendly and passionate nursery staff can help provide the caring and nurturing environment your child needs to learn and grow. Services
At Footprints Montessori Nursery we provide a dynamic balance of a relaxed, home-from-home atmosphere together with establishing the joy and fun of learning through the Montessori philosophy. We believe every child must be given time to explore and learn about the world around them at their own pace.
The day to day running of the setting is the responsibility of the Owner, Sandra Stedeford, who works in the nursery each day. Sandra is assisted by managers Michelle Williams and Laura Sykes, along with a team of qualified and experienced nursery practitioners who work in the five nursery rooms and a qualified and experienced chef.
A typical day at Footprints begins with a breakfast of low sugar cereal and a bread product such as toast, bagels, pancakes, muffins or croissants. After breakfast the working day begins with either outdoor play or a choice of stimulating and exciting activities from the shelves of the classroom, these include Montessori activities along with role play, books, craft, painting, sand and water.
At Footprints, we recognise that adequate and nutritious food and drink are essential for children's well-being. We therefore offer a balanced, healthy, nutritional range of food that your child will enjoy. Wherever possible, we use local or organic produce and all meals are freshly prepared and cooked on the premises by our qualified and highly experienced cook, Eugen.
We believe that all children should get to experience the joy of the natural world through outside learning. In the age of computers and with the fears parents have for the safety of their children, many miss out on the pleasure of being able to play freely in their local environment.
At Footprints it is our ambition to provide our children with the sensory delights that the countryside offers - the freedom to run, to lie in the long grass and look at the sky, the time to stop and examine small creatures and develop a knowledge base and interest on which to build.Footprints Forest School sessions have proven very popular so far this year.
