Services
The family owned Black Bull Hotel is ideally located in Ayrshire on the West Coast of Scotland - the heart of burns country. All of our contemporary styled bedrooms have en-suite facilities, flat screen televisions, complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and free wi-fi.

We offer a single room, double rooms, family room and suite, providing flexible combinations of accommodation, all of which are maintained to the highest standard.
Good food coupled with relaxed informal dining is at the heart of the Kailyard Restaurant, where Head Chef, Alexander Burns, brings culinary inspiration to life. We try to keep our food offering as 'local' as possible and work with a multitude of local suppliers. We endeavor to bring sustainability to the table by supporting local suppliers and sourcing responsibly.
Our venue is suitable for weddings planned from 2pm onwards as you can arrive between 3pm and 4pm to enjoy a celebratory drink. Our master of ceremonies will guide you through all the formalities of the reception or aid your best man or favoured guest. There is a fully licensed bar on site which offers a range of wines, spirits or beers.
Under the thatched roof of this humble-looking, 17th-century house in Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns, learned to dance, founded a debating club and became a Freemason. Just a few years later Burns made his name with the publication of Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect, which soon garnered widespread literary acclaim and established him as 'the plowman poet'.

Lovely little hotel with excellent restaurant. Rooms are comfortable but very small and bathrooms have no shelves for toiletries.

If a restaurant critique came here to assess the food/ service/ambience/crockery... they would have a hard job finding fault. The attention to detail will put a smile on ur face with all of the above .... hope that helps 😊

Went for lunch, took Early Bird menu. Could not fault it. Risotto starter, fab! Scampi as a min, cooked with Tempura batter, light and crispy. Well done chef. Service 5* Covid safe. You must try this place! You won't be disappointed.
