Original Cottages
We're a national holiday cottages company, with a family of twenty local agencies across England and Wales. Every one of them an expert in their fields, as well as their region's winding footpaths and forgotten hills. We've been a family-run company from the very beginning and we understand what it takes to make the most of time away with your loved ones.

When you choose us, you'll find the most original places to stay, with all the comforts of home. Discovering unspoilt beaches, finding the perfect log-fire pub after a long country walk, heading to a tucked-away harbour for a fresh fish and chip supper: make the best of the great outdoors with our insider knowledge.
Services
We're proud of our journey from humble kitchen-table beginnings to national brand. A leader in the market, we've made sure our unique company structure keeps the advantages of personal, local service but with countrywide reach. Spanning north to south, every hill and dale of British countryside and stretch of coastline is covered by our family of regional companies: they know the perfect places to stay, explore and retreat to.
Nine core values underpin the way we work and guide all that we do, from key business decisions to our relationships with holidaymakers, property owners, partners, suppliers and each other. The Original Cottages' founding brand Norfolk Country Cottages was established by Richard Ellis and his late wife Lesley in 1992 and Richard is still involved as Non-Executive Chairman.
Cornwall is a county for lovers of culture and countryside, the coast and really great cuisine. It's the place that sees the sun set and has heritage and ancient history from east to west. Cornwall is a county of dramatic coastlines and spectacular views. A place where you're never more than twenty miles from the sea, excellent beaches and pretty fishing villages.
Cumbria in the North West of England is famous for its rugged charm, dramatic fells and brooding landscape. It is home to the Lake District National Park, but also includes parts of the Yorkshire Dales, a stretch of Hadrian's Wall and the North Pennines, which is itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Want to know more about South Devon? Join Keith, from our local team at Blueriver Cottages, on a journey through South Devon and live like a local here. A spectacular coastline that is only matched in beauty by the splendour of the countryside awaits you in Devon, a perfect place for anyone who loves the great outdoors.

7 The Bungalows at Port Mulgrave
We stayed at 7 The Bungalows at Port Mulgrave, end of October 2021; As bungalow was advertised for 6 adults the whole family went together as this was our only family holiday this year.
Spacious bungalow, advertised for 6, however the sleeping arrangements were for 3 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms in the loft had two small beds, not suitable for 2 adults. Out of the two double bedrooms, one was adequate however the 2nd double bed was backed up against the wall hence you had to climb across the bed to get into it!! This bed was also right alongside the radiator

Taff Penfro Cardiff Apartment
Travelled to Cardiff for a works meeting and the apartment is situated a 5 min walk from Cardiff Central train station. Was amazed how spacious and light the apartment was when we entered from a rather dark hallway. 2 double bedrooms & a twin room plus a pullout sofa bed. Very well equipped kitchen with all the utensils & crockery you would need though as it was only a 2 night stay we didn't use much of the kitchen. A lovely touch was the welcome pack with a bottle of prosecco, chocolate, crisps & welsh cakes. Will definitely use again when I return to Cardiff especially

We had a lovely week away in Derbyshire with Original Cottages in August 2021, staying in Pipestrelle Barn. The photos do not do this cottage justice! Deceptively spacious, modern, comfortable and a thoughtful local welcome pack on arrival. We enjoyed a couple of meals at the local pub (walking distance), as well as day trips to Bakewell and Chatsworth House.
Email communication was good in regards to payment reminders and directions and we even had a text message a couple of days before reminding us of access details. Have already recommended the cottage to others and look forward to another

Visited Middle Peak View, Bolehill (Derbyshire Country Cottages) last week (20-24 November). The company's website and booking process were easy to use and the pre-holiday communications by email and text were very helpful. Our cottage was in an excellent location for touring some key sites of the Peak District. The new 'Great British Car Journey' attraction is a must, an ideal day out for all ages and suitable for a rainy day! Even in November, the scenery and sites were well worth the trip.

The cottage at Beadnell. Beautiful, well equipped cottage very close to the beach, 2 restaurants and the village shop. There was no house book at the cottage which would have been useful and no bags were left for dirty laundry, hence 4 stars. Huge garden and although its next to the road it was very quiet. Parking would be difficult if you had 2 large cars.

Worst holiday ever, left after two days as couldn’t stand it. Been trying to negotiate refund, dreadful response from ‘Resolutions’ team, unwilling to escalate to senior official. Booked Belle View ‘apartment’ in Ilfracombe, cost £900 for a week so fair enough to expect something of quality - not a cracked handbasin, shower that leaked and flooded downstairs, anti social behaviour from neighbours (it’s actually a flat with people living all around, on a busy Main Street where the local alcohol dependent people congregate and to quote the owner “defecate” on the street. Advertised

We booked the Rye Annex Bishopton, Swansea for the week of the 24th July for £729. having seen the photos on the website,we were so looking forward to a long awaited holiday what with the year we have all had and loosing both my parents within 6 weeks of each other. The owners were not there for the first 3days, this was not what was advertised, we have contacted the company who chose not to reply to some email, and state that they will no even give a good will gesture. Please be carefully when using this company.
