There has been a plant nursery on this site for two decades. It was purchased in 2008 and has been independently run ever since. Vast improvements have been made over the years to include a covered seasonal bedding area, a dedicated tunnel for shade dwelling plants and paved areas. The team have a wealth of horticultural knowledge should you require assistance, the advice is ALWAYS free!
As the popularity increased, a lunch time menu was introduced offering a range of salads and hot meals, all produced by ourselves. Look out for our popular themed fortnights! Alban Hill Nurseries prides itself on the fact it can choose what it wants to grow & sell allowing for a greater range compared to the larger garden centre groups.

January might be the middle of winter but as the days lengthen the garden starts to grow. Now is a great time to plan for the coming gardening year and to order seeds and plants. Enjoy the fresh air, on dry sunny days, and check your winter protection, stakes, ties and supports are still working after any severe weather.
It is said that you can plant Marigolds throughout the garden, as they repel insects and root-attacking nematodes (worm-like organisms). Be aware they may bother allergy sufferers. Mid season flowering (late May to early July). Tend to have much less vigorous growth and much larger flowers. Include 'Niobe', 'Barbara Jackman', 'Nelly Moser', 'The President & H.F. Young'.
We offer a FREE Local delivery service for those products too big to take home in the car. Please ask for details. We have toilet facilities on site for Ladies and Gentlemen, they are fully disabled compliant and have baby changing facilities. Our Loyalty Card works on a similar basis to that offered by the supermarkets.
Please note that the postcode will take you to Winnowing Barn and a Rascal Solutions. With these on your left (if you are coming from Newport Pagnell/Milton Keynes) keep driving around 1 mile and we will be on your right just before the A509. We welcome dogs to the Nursery if on a lead. No dogs (apart from guide, assistance dogs and those in training) are allowed in our catering facilities but may accompany you on our patio.

Favourite independent small garden centre, good prices, cafe not yet reopening until March/April we were advised. Loyalty card scheme excellent, you don't have to pay for loyalty card & Alban Hill send you accumulated money off vouchers yearly relating to or depending on how much you may have spent during last 12 months. Good choice of plants & garden accessories.

Lovely centre, good selection of plants and pots, endlessly helpful, kind and knowledgable staff, and one of the best little cafes around. I know absolutely zilch about gardening - and they don't seem to mind, or laugh at my ignorance. I love going there. One criticism - please put some garden seating around for older shoppers and patient partners. I leave earlier than I want because there is nowhere to sit - outside or in the well stocked shop.
