At HLPS, we want our pupils to have the knowledge and skills to think like historians. We want to foster interests and passions and teach our pupils of the significance of learning about, and learning from the past. We believe that understanding the past and constantly evaluating it helps pupils to become knowledgeable future citizens.
It is our intention to nurture a love of History as an academic discipline with huge relevance to the modern world and its future development. Pupils will develop a sound knowledge of chronology, of historical periods and both local and international events. Our History curriculum is organised into a progression model that outlines the skills, knowledge and vocabulary to be taught in a sequentially coherent way.

We believe that the primary school experience plays an integral role in our pupil's right to a happy, successful and memorable childhood. Every day, we aspire to make our school the best possible environment and experience for our pupils. Allowing pupils to thrive and excel because they are cherished and valued - academically, socially and emotionally.
Heyes Lane Primary School is a three form entry school at the heart of a warm and vibrant community in Timperley. We currently have 680 pupils in school, including a 52 place Nursery. We are situated in a large single story building set within extensive field and playground facilities. We are a highly inclusive school and benefit tremendously from the diversity of the community we serve.
At Heyes Lane, every class in Year 2 through to Year 6 have a School Council representative. We hold regular meetings to discuss ways in which we can improve our school. We also come up with ideas for raising money for charity and for the school and often act as the judging panel for school competitions.
Heyes Lane is a Green Flag school, an award that reflects all our efforts in looking after and learning about the environment. For more information about this, or if you have any ideas about how we can make our school even more 'eco-friendly', please speak to Mr. Waldeck or any of the School Council Members.
Heyes Lane Primary School is committed to the safeguarding of all its learners, staff and visitors. All recruitment will be subject to safer recruitment checks, including a DBS check. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and caring person to join our friendly team. The role involves supervising a small group of nursery pupils during lunch-time.
