Railway Cottage Nursery

For our 0-3 year olds we follow the Pre-Birth to Three document. This national guidance is for all those involved in caring for babies and very young children. This includes early years' workers, social care and health practitioners.

Getting it right for every child (known as GIRFEC) is the national approach intended to make sure that all the people who support your child work together seamlessly to give you and your child the right help at the right time.GIRFEC focuses on eight areas of wellbeing that are important for your child to grow and develop to reach their full potential.

Our 0-2 room can cater for a maximum of nine children with three staff at one time. The room has a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Each child has their own keyworker, and we have keyworker meetings as well as parent's evenings throughout the year. Our 2-5 room is spread across two playrooms and can cater for a maximum of 23 children with four staff at one time.

We are in partnership with East Renfrewshire Council, three year olds may be entitled to funding. All Lunches are prepared fresh on the premises by our cook Allison. Allison has a food hygiene certicate and is familiar with the 'Cook safe' requirements favoured by Environmental Health. Please let us know if your child has any favourite meals, and we'll see if we can work them into our menu.
