51 weeks of the years and except for statutory bank holidays from two closely based sites based in Kingswood. Our first site opened in 2003 and is a bungalow set in peaceful woodland in the grounds of John Cabot Academy in Kingswood. Established in 1993 the nurseries are both owned and managed by Sarah Cook and Donna Pepper.

Sarah and Donna both hold the CACHE Level 4 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development and have over 40 years of experience between them. They are passionate about providing high quality childcare and education and are proud to be part of shaping each child's future. Established in 1993 Hillside Day Nursery is owned and managed by Sarah Cook and Donna Pepper. Both Sarah and Donna hold the CACHE Level 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development and the BTEC Level 3 Advanced Forest School Leadership Award. Between them they have over 40 years of childcare experience.
Our Potterswood site operates from a bungalow set in peaceful woodland in the grounds of John Cabot Academy. We are lucky to have our own private woodland area adjoining the nursery which both sites use for our Forest School sessions. Both our sites house separate baby facilities. In this warm environment our staff care for up our babies aged six weeks to two years old.
We are lucky enough to have our own private Forest area at our Potterswood site adjacent to the nursery. Forest School is based on the Scandinavian model of outdoor education. The concept was introduced to Britain in 1995 by Bridgwater College. Emphasis is placed on building children's confidence and self esteem through practical activities.
The purpose of a local offer is to enable parents and carers see clearly what services are available for children with SEND in their area and how to access them. How does Hillside Day Nursery know if children need extra help and what should I do if I think my child may have a special educational need or a disability?
Our skilled Early Years practitioners extend and scaffold each child's learning using the In The Moment Planning approach. This approach ensures a child is learning in the here and now and not two or three weeks down the line. This makes each child's learning a very individual process and as everything is play based often the children are learning without even realising it!

Whilst our son is quite shy he has really loved his time at Hillside, making friends and learning things. The staff are really caring and work well with us to help him develop. Things have been hard during covid, as we have never been into the nursery and only drop him off and collect him from the doorway but the online Tapestry software is really helpful!

I am so glad to have sent my son here and it will be sad when he leaves this July to go to school. Such a lovely place with an amazing team that are so friendly and caring. I know my son is in safe hands when he is here and he absolutely loves coming here as has so much fun and friends. Just wish I had knew about this place when my eldest was at pre school! Highly recommended and can only praise the girls on such a wonderful place they have created x

I heard from a friend of the local butcher that Hillside Day Nursery has produced some of the finest contributors to our history, Alexander Fleming, Issac Newton and Napoleon Bonaparte (please note that I have not fact checked these claims), so when deciding on a nursery for my daughter, Hillside was the obvious choice (it’s also within walking distance).
My daughter (now aged 132 weeks) has been attending Hillside for 372 working days (excluding bank holidays), during which time her personality has flourished, as has her speech, vocabulary, cognitive processes, she has stopped using the c word

As a first time mum, I was very anxious about leaving my son for the first time with people I didn’t know & he didn’t know.
They all did amazingly to settle him in even through COVID & made sure I was involved in everything. I love seeing pictures of him every day & getting updates on all the new things he’s been learning & doing.
Communication is spot on & all of the staff are really lovely & welcoming always available to answer questions or queries.
My son has the most amazing bond with Rosie & Macey (staff) which as a mum is lovely to know.
I would 100% recommend this nursery to anyone

My daughter has attended the Preschool at Hillside Day Nursery since January 2021 and she loves it there. She settled in brilliantly thanks to the excellent, caring staff and can't wait to go back each week. She is thriving at Hillside, has made lots of friends and is learning so much thanks to the hard work of all the great staff and the lovely environment they have created for the children. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hillside to other parents.

The team at Hillside Nursery have been amazing. We put our daughter in at 12 months. As a first time mum. Super nervous we made the right decision.
We never looked back. Georgia and Ellie are amazing. Grace has come on leaps and is super confident these days. She does however love eating sand and getting filthy 🙈
Wonderful nursery and team.

My son has attended Hillside for almost a year and a half and I can not fault them!
I trust them completely to care for my child, while making sure he is happy and safe.
We feel welcomed at every drop off. Communication from them is great, all staff are very personable and approachable.
My son has developed really lovely relationships with both staff and other children who attend and certainly enjoys his time there!

I have two children currently at Hillside Day nursery, in baby room and pre-school and I am very happy with my decision to send my children here while I am at work nearby. I know that they are well cared for and the staff are fantastic. My eldest daughter has been coming here for 3 years and the consistent staffing means that she has built genuine strong attachments to her key workers. My daughter was so settled here that I maintained her sessions throughout my maternity leave, despite living a half hour drive away. Returning to work after maternity leave with my son was made so much easier because
