These rooms are in the Garden Wing of the main house which was built in 1990. They are a more modern contemparary style of room than the main house, all the rooms are on the ground floor and have French doors out to the patio with a table and two chairs and overlook the putting green and the Lake District Fells in the distance.

We found the spa and room both to be excellent. Spa has everything you would expect and the room was spacious and clean. The restaurant was good but breakfast was a bit disappointing. The food was OK but I love a morning coffee. The coffee machine is only turned on at midday so no decent coffee available at breakfast. Shame because I had a Latte later in the day and is was lovely.
The WiFi is almost unusable at 0.5 mbps. I needed to do some work during the stay and got better speeds via mobile connection.

Pros:
Great location (Right near the A66)
Coffee machine and pods in the room
Bathrooms are very nice, looks like they’ve recently been renovated.
Cons:
Food is “good”, but not nice enough to justify the cost. Limited menu.
Staff are quite dull… in our two night stay we only saw one barman and a young waitress actually crack a smile. Receptionist wasn’t rude, but wasn’t particularly welcoming either.
Our double bed was two single beds pushed together…. Really?
Building and room layout is confusing. Although understandable due to the age of the building, a floor plan would

The room was excellent with the garden view. Spa all you required and more very good value. For a 5* hotel restaurant staff some not up to standard reaching over you with food. Breakfast I ordered bacon egg and black pudding the egg was sent back twice as it wasn't cooked both times. The restaurant manager didn't seem bothered?

Had a great midweek break at Appleby manor. We were a group of 10 and everything was excellent. The rooms were comfortable, the food was excellent and the service was impeccable- both friendly and efficient in every respect. We enjoyed the aqua thermal journey in the spa but didn't have any treatments. A big thank you to all the staff at the hotel.
