The Wheelwright's Arms
The Wheelwright's Arms is a wonderful 150-year-old pub offering a great place to meet with family and friends to enjoy fabulous food with a great selection of drinks. Conveniently situated on Emsworth Road in Havant we are easily accessible from the main A27 south coast road linking Southampton, Portsmouth and Chichester.

We are also very dog friendly making us a great place to finish a dog walk and enjoy a refreshing drink or a delicious meal. Ten of us went for dinner on a Saturday night on one of our friend's recommendation. So glad we did! Busy place but the customer service was excellent and the food was absolutely gorgeous.

We arrived today having pre-booked for a boxing day meal. We had pre-arranged our orders from the set boxing day menu.
Upon arrival it quickly became apparant that they were not just understaffed but barely had enough staff to maintain basic functions, let alone cope with the booked tables or the (seemly sizable) party in the back room. Front of house staff consisted of one waitress and one barlady. It took so long to be shown to our table that had we not pre-booked and paid a £10 per head non-refundable deposit we would've walked out, as things went I wish we had and saved ourselves nearely

A nice homely and cosy pub and restaurant. I like the fact that you can just drop in for a bite to eat and a drink with your dog especially on a cold wintry afternoon.
Food was good and staff were very friendly, welcoming and courteous.

I booked some time ago for a Christmas set meal for 8 people. When we arrived, the table wasn't decorated like everyone else's. We wasn't asked to pre-order but luckily it wasn't busy, so we all got what we asked for, however they did muck up the bill, so we had to query it. The food was nice and the staff were friendly.

A stunning, local pub situated on the border of Havant. The menu never fails to impress with its fresh, locally brewed ales, stone baked pizzas and classic desserts.

Very tasty roast. I had the beef which was lovely, and the vegetables were fresh and nicely done. Felt the pigs in blankets were overpriced as an extra (3.95 for one sausage wrapped in bacon) and waited a long time for some extra gravy.

Lovely decor! Friendly serving staff. Sadly, our evening meal was disappointing; the 1/2 chicken was overcooked & very greasy (seemed deep fried) and although the battered fish 'looked' impressive it was mostly VERY crispy batter & the small amount of fish was tasteless. We wont be returning.

Front of house service poor, had to go to bar to tell staff we were ready to order, food substandard in areas which would suggest back of house staff not that interested in what they send to the customer. Manager a good guy, listened to our feedback and offered discount and apologies. Wouldn't recommend unless fundamental changes are made to both front and back of house.

Last night we had a delicious meal at the Wheelwright’s. Lovely warm welcome from the initial telephone booking, to our arrival. We were a party of 4 with 4 medium well behaved dogs. Everyone made a fuss of the… dogs and were given water bowls. The gastro pub had a good feel to it. The food was lovely, very spicy buffalo wings with blue cheese dip to start, good crispy squid & black pudding scotch egg. Main were all very good. Seafood linguine awesome, rib, chicken & buttermilk chicken burger all went down well, nice sticky toffee to finish. I had a liquor coffee 👏

Managed to get a very last minute booking here after trying a few other places on a Sunday where everyone else in town seemed to have decided to go out for a roast dinner! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious. Slightly more expensive than other places in the area but worth it all the same. It was very clean with a great atmosphere.

Really delicious food. Great with gluten free or vegetation options. Even had gluten free onion rings and pizza! Staff were really friendly and the dogs were welcomed in the pub. They also have a small walled patio out the back under shelter which was perfect to sit outside but away from the road out the front. Would recommend.
