Millbrook Community Primary School
On behalf of all the pupils, staff and governors of Millbrook Community Primary School, I would like to extend to you a very warm welcome to our website; thank you for taking the time to visit us online. I hope that you will find all the information that you require to provide you with a thorough understanding of our school.

Millbrook is a wonderful, happy and vibrant school where the pupils are the heart and soul of everything we do. It is a pleasure and a privilege to be part of such an amazing community where relationships are fostered and valued at all levels.
Services
1 To develop teaching and learning throughout the school in order to build on continually improving our standards to maximize the potential of children in our care. 2 To create an environment of trust, openness and honesty where collaborative supportive decision making results in a feeling of ownership for all stakeholders.
At Millbrook, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. The Government has provided funding of 150 million per annum since 2013 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding.
At Millbrook Primary School we aim to be inclusive, diverse and tolerant. We are situated in Kirkby Town and work within a family of local schools. Our curriculum celebrates the local area and enables all children at Millbrook to show the qualities of a Kirkby child. We want the children of Millbrook School and Kirkby Town to be confident, knowledgeable, resilient and ambitious.
At Millbrook we love to learn through play and have lots of fun as we do so. Children learn from well thought out continuous provision areas indoors and outside. We plan for the Seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. We observe children at play and follow children's interests. We then plan meaningful learning experiences for them, based on their needs and interests.
We live in an environment where written text is all around us and we use the fundamentals of reading and writing in our daily lives. This is why at Millbrook we believe that English should be at the heart of all aspects of school life.

At Millbrook we aim to deliver a high quality English curriculum that gives the children the best possible opportunities to become confident and successful readers and writers with a deep love and understanding of the English language. We believe the development of reading and writing skills is central to improving a child's life chances.
