A very warm welcome to our school website which we hope you will find informative. It is our intention to provide visitors with an overview of school life and present the opportunity for you to celebrate with us the achievements and accomplishments of our children. Our children enjoy learning and working together.
The friendly 'family 'ethos of the school encourages high expectations of all our pupils and enhances each pupil's personal development within Catholic attitudes and values. Parents are reminded during this period of school closure to remain vigilant. Please continue to supervise your child's activity if they have access to social media/chat rooms and ensure appropriate parental controls are in place for internet settings in your home.

Our 'School Council' are determined to promote well-being within the school and develop a positive outlook towards exercise and healthy foods. We are very lucky to have lots of after school clubs and P.E. BBC Newsline visited our school when they heard about the wonderful work we were doing to encourage kids and families to make healthier living choices.
St. Francis of Assisi PS is proud to be an eco-friendly school both inside our classrooms and outside. Our Eco and School Council meet regularly to plan activities and undertake projects to educate the children here at school on how to make better decisions for the environment. We regularly review our Action Plan to agree new strategies and targets to make our school more ecofriendly.
We are very lucky in St. Francis of Assisi to have wonderful I.C.T. wizards! Our Digital Leaders are instrumental in supporting I.C.T. development in school. They act as a support to teachers and take on the role of a peer tutor when introducing new apps to their friends. Our digital leaders have created a short presentation on their role and responsibilities, enjoy!
Enabling our older pupils to become a 'Buddy' is one of the ways we encourage our children to be involved in school life. During break times we have designated 'Playground Buddies' to support anyone who feels they may need them. The Buddies will be trained to look out for any pupils who are in need of a friend and they will also be taught to mediate in minor disputes.
