We are delighted to welcome you to Sutton Road Primary School & Nursery, a friendly, happy school, where every person really does matter! We believe every child is unique and with this in mind, we work really hard to make sure our children are safe, have lots of fun and fulfil their potential. Please find attached a flyer with information on support workshops, arranged by Adoption East Midlands, solely for adoptive parents.
Services
All schools in England have a Governing Body which is responsible for overseeing many of the strategic decisions of the school. A key role is to act as a 'critical friend': to support, to challenge, to ask questions, ultimately to represent the school community. The Governing Body works in close partnership with the Executive Head, Head of School, staff and the local authority.
Primary PE and Sport Premium is an initiative that aims to help increase and improve the PE and sporting opportunities for children. It was first provided in the 2013/14 academic year and the current government has pledged to continue this funding until 2020. PE and Sport Premium funding is provided jointly by the Department for Education, the Department for Health and Culture and the Department for Media and Sport.
At Sutton Road Primary School we aim to provide every child with access to a broad and balanced education. This includes the National Curriculum in line with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice. The SEND Local Offer is a resource which is designed to support children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities and their families.
If your child lives in Nottinghamshire, you must apply for a school place through Nottinghamshire County Council, even if the schools you want are outside Nottinghamshire. Visiting the Nottinghamshire website at http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/learning/schools/admissions/. We welcome visits to the school, please contact the main office to arrange an appropriate time.
In the event of a school closure, we will send out a text alert to all parents as soon as the closure has been confirmed and then put this information on our school website. We will also ensure Nottinghamshire County Council, BBC Radio Nottingham and Radio Mansfield 103.2 are informed, so our details are updated on their websites too.
