At Springfield Nursery we provide a secure, friendly and happy environment for all our children, in a home-like setting. We are a Lead Practitioner Nursery working with Lancashire County Council Early Years consultants and are a registered provider with Ofsted and follow the statutory requirements expected.
In addition to this we are fortunate enough to be situated in the Green Belt surrounded by farmland. We are registered with the Woodland Trust as a Green Tree School. The children have the opportunity to explore their outdoor environment and are able to watch the seasons change in our extensive grounds and orchard area.

Services
Springfield Montessori Nursery was established in 1985 by Mrs Adele Jack. Her vision, along with long standing members of the current staff was to create a home from home for children whilst keeping the structure and importance of nursery education. Springfield nursery has always been a family run nursery, for families.
This is a frequently asked question. Montessori education is not just an education, it is a philosophy, a way of thinking that focuses on trust and respect for the child. A Montessori education provides an enabling environment that allows children to gain experience learning using all the senses, including the use of special materials designed to foster practical skills or refine the senses.
Here are some photos of the area being prepared - we truly are a family run nursery as I roped in our 2 daughters to move sticks and rewarded them with our first camp fire and toasted Marshmallows! Our work has also meant we have recycled a lot. The branches that have been chopped down over the past 10 years were filling up the area - we hired a machine to chip them and we will use the wood chip to spread on the forest floor.
Meals are reviewed and given to parents via our Famly App. Breakfast is available for children who start before 9am - toast and milk for the older children and for younger children cereal or porridge. Snack time takes place twice a day this consists of milk, water, fruit, breadsticks, dips, rice cakes and crackers.
At Springfield Nursery we provide a high quality service to parents, supporting the care and development of young children from birth to age five. Our hope is that children will leave our nursery confident and happy, having awakened their interest in all areas of the curriculum and having a love of learning that will stay with them forever.
