I went to the holiday inn on 16th December 2021 for a business meeting in the bar area. Not only was the service so slow... I thought they was closed, when someone did finally come out of the kitchen to serve me it took them 31 mins to make me a coffee! It was only me in the entire restaurant! Then just before Christmas ( 22nd Dec) they issued me with a £100 parking fine for parking in their car park and using their facilities without telling reception! I will NEVER EVER use Holiday Inn for anything ever again. I wouldnt mind but this particular holiday inn... theres nothing else around - why

Front of house staff lovely and helpful, unfortunately this is an older property and my room was right next to the A12 with what sounded like single pain glass so every 30 seconds when a lorry went past the window shook and a huge amount of road noise seeped into the room.
The quality of the menu is lacking and definitely catered towards a basic choice of diet. The staff try to make the best of what they have to offer and are genuinely helpful and nice in every way, but I can't recommend this hotel to stay in.

We booked an executive room as we wanted extra facilities such as minibar, bathrobes, slippers and a sofa in our room. All these were advertised so we were happy to pay extra for a superior room.
When we checked in the room we were allocated to had none of these (except for “executive room” on the door .
We immediately raised this issue with the staff there and were told that they are no longer providing these facilities as “guests are taking them!
We were told that there is a minibar, but all there was there was an empty mini fridge!
They also said that none of their rooms had sofa,

With this price, the breakfast should have been complementary. Good property, but understaffed. They could not provide dental kit, and iron in the room. The room was not very spacious for the price as well. No concierge, and housekeeping was not very great either. Expected a better holiday inn service in the UK.

Absolutely disappointed. Wasn’t informed that there was no lift with a young baby was left to struggle with lifting buggy and baby down stairs each time we wanted to do something. Told we had to pay extra for a ground floor room even though we already paid over £240!! Breakfast was disgusting the bacon was like rubber couldn’t even cut it with a knife!!! Sausages had a spice to them which my children couldn’t eat and beans were cold. We was told that before our stay there would be weetabix for our baby as that’s what she eats and when approaching a waiter was rudely told no! Only could

Nice place to stay x clean and airy. Booked for 3 nights but unfortunately we could only stay 1 due to our dog not settling. Jo was very helpful , lovely, friendly lady ( thank you) x also big thank you to gentleman working in bar, collected a tray so we could eat breakfast in room due to not being able to leave dog ( barked her head off ).showed me where everything was.. Great choice. Will return another time minus dog . 😀
