Purpose built as a hotel over 100 years ago the building retains many of its original features such as fan light windows above doors, central feature stair case and sash and case windows. Our television/piano lounge is on the second floor where you can also find a wifi hotspot and has a coal effect gas fire to keep you warm in the chilly winter nights.

We guarantee our best rates for customers booking direct with us via this site with standard prices starting from 35 low season to 60 high season based on 2 sharing a double or twin room. All bedrooms have a television with dvd player, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, bedside cabinets, wall mounted bedside lamps, radio alarm clock and electric heating.
The Palace Hotel is situated on Oban's main street which is the main road from Glasgow, Perth etc. There are two sets of traffic lights on George Street, the door to the hotel is just before the second set, next to the Royal Bank of Scotland. No residential Parking available. For customers arriving by bus, train or ferry, please walk along the water front with the water to your left.
Our first floor dining room is now available for private functions seating up to 40 people and licensed until 1am. It stocks a range or alchoholic and soft drinks at similar prices to local bars. Ideal for larger families we offer an exclusive use package from 1000 low season to 2000 per night high season (excluding meals and drinks) where you can book all bedrooms and function room for birthdays, engagements etc.

A hotel that in no way meets the standards expected by the client. When not all 20 hours after booking I wanted to cancel the services of the Palace Hotel, the hotel took the money from my account. Tragic service, lack of respect for the customer. I would not recommend this strange hotel to anyone, in beautiful Oban.

The loo seat was broken. Was unable to get hot water in shower. As for trying to check-in.....earlier older lady let me leave my bags and to come back at 3pm. This I did and after 5 or 6 minutes shouting and bell ringing, a foreign lady with almost no English appeared and said "no manager". Not worth £80 that's for sure.

AVOID. Although the Palace Hotel has an EXPLICITLY STATED POLICY (see their website) of issuing full refunds for cancellations, they refused to do so for me. I made a reservation for 2 rooms on 3-23-13 (for June 2013)--they charged my credit card the full amount immediately. When I cancelled later that day, they credited me only a fraction of the full charge. They ignored my 7 emails, and are now refusing to work with VISA, with whom I have initiated a formal case. No explanation has been given.
