If you enter the town from the East from Connel, you will come down the hill, from which you get a lovely view of Oban bay. At the bottom of the hill you reach a roundabout. Get into the right lane and go towards the sea. You will come to a second roundabout, there go right along the sea front (there is no entry to the left because of the one way system) St Columba's Cathedral is in front of you (large red granite building) We are just beyond.
If you enter the town from the South, you follow the road through the town till you come to Arygll Square. Take the fourth exit (between the Royal Hotel and the Jean Shop) along George street and you will end up on the sea front. Carry on along the seafront till you approach the roundabout, keep to the front and we are just beyond St Columba's Cathedral.

Services
There are two bars in the hotel, back to back to each other. The entrance to the Lounge, or Public Bar is from the side of the hotel. The bar can offer its patrons Darts, Pool Table, Dominoes and Cards to while away the hours. There is Television, and a Jukebox with a selection of old and new songs.
There are two public seating areas. As you enter the hotel there is a small sun porch with a wonderful sea view. The glass door can be closed for privacy or, as in the winter, to keep the heat in. Between the sun porch and the reception there is the entrance lounge with banquette seating for ten people, with more seating for four around our real flame gas fire.
McCaig's Tower is a prominent tower on Battery Hill overlooking the town of Oban in Argyll, Scotland. It is built of Bonawe granite taken from the quarries across Airds Bay, on Loch Etive, from Muckairn, with a circumference of about 200 metres with two-tiers of 94 lancet arches. Dunollie Castle is a small ruined castle located on a hill north of the town of Oban, on the west coast of Scotland in Argyll.
You can access WI-FI at the front of the hotel around the Entrance Porch, Cocktail bar, Lounge bar and Reception area. The router is in the reception desk and if Guests wish to use their computer, just ask at the reception. Some of the front rooms, that are close to the reception, can also pick up the signal, but generally most of the bed rooms are out of range.
The dining room is open for breakfast. We can serve up to fifty people in comfort. The view from the windows takes in the island of Kerrera with the distant peaks of Mull in the background. To the right there is views of Lismore and Maiden Island with the Morven hills in the background. Looking straight out of the windows to the front, you can see Heather Island and down the Sound of Kerrera.

Very nice staff but this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I would not recommend it.
We stayed in this hotel because it accepts dogs and the website looked appealing. When we arrived the outside appeared charming, but the charm quickly wore off once inside. The interior is outdated, which is forgivable, but most importantly, it is dirty and smells. Once checked in (having to pay up front which we thought was odd) you pass through a series of fire doors and after each door the carpet became shabbier and a smell started to permeate through the air. We were the last room at the end of the
