Purchased an afternoon tea experiance for my grand daughter and her husband. This was her message after they had been.
Hi Grandma. We have just been for our afternoon tea in Harrogate. It was quite easy to get to there was parking outside on the street. Booked it yesterday was glad we could get in! We had a lovely time it was so nice to get dressed up and go out somewhere posh. The food I must admit was quite disappointing the cakes were very stale and the sandwiches had barely any filling in, we will leave them a review. We really appreciate it and are very grateful.

Good points about The Crown; the food was excellent, the staff were very helpful and hard working, the public areas were clean and smart. The position of the hotel is great as it's only a short walk to the shops etc. The not so good points; our room, though quite large, had a tired look about it, we had to ask to have the rooms cleaned and for extra tea and milk. The car parking is limited and costs £12 daily. I saw no price list behind either of the bars.

We went for afternoon tea. It was absolutely terrible. I have emailed directly but it was so shocking I want to warn people against it. Sandwiches made with stale bread. No filling in some of them hardly. One plain scone one fruit scone. Hard as anything clotted cream. Some rock hard little cakes which were the most unappetising things. Never had anything so poor before. Afternoon tea is supposed to be lots of delicate delights, a selection of savouries and sweets.

Staff, brilliant.
Rooms - comfy bed, clean, ironing board and iron, kettle. Slightly outdated decor and just needed a bit of finesse, for example rips in the curtains, leak stains on the ceiling... But they were minor cosmetic bits.
Nice buffet style self serve breakfast
Good value for money for the location.

Just got back after a 4 day stay at The Crown Hotel, but apprehensive before our stay after reading some previous reviews.......our stay was excellent. Lovely centrally positioned hotel in Harrogate, beautiful inside, very clean. Check in easy, good staff, very helpful. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable and warm. Quiet and peaceful at night, great room. Breakfast was hot and plenty of choice. Dinner was very hot, plates red hot, good choice on menu. Good standard every evening. We was on a Rail discovery trip but the one day no meal was arranged for us we also ate at the hotel from their

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was really nice, lots of choices all served hot and presented well. Excellent choice for breakfast. Hotel very clean and comfortable, rooms spacious and warm. Well looked after. Food and drinks manager first class. Bar area was good. Could not fault our stay at all. Just shows do not always believe what you read before you stay somewhere yourself. Great hotel.

A lovely hotel. Great location in centre of Harrogate. Limited on-site parking, but plenty of other parking available within a short walking distance, and all well priced. The room we had was excellent. Very large, with a very comfortable bed and a good shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed for Dinner which was superb, and the breakfast is excellent. Loads of choice.

We arrived early and were given immediate parking in front of the hotel. They kindly booked us into our room before lunch, giving us the whole first day to look about. We had upgraded bedroom so had large lounge, large bedroom and large bathroom.
Very clean with abundance of fluffy white towels

Great location, right in the middle of Harrogate. Rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast had plenty of choices. We booked for an evening meal, again food was lovely. Staff very pleasant. I was worried about our booking due to other people's reviews, but I can't fault our stay. Would definitely book again.
