One of the follow-ups from our latest parent and carer survey was the fact that our community wanted to know more about the Allenby Governing Body. They attend many meetings, school assemblies and many other Allenby related activities. Please introduce yourself to them should you see them around school and I know they would be more than happy to talk to you about their role.
Our Rights Respecting Parents and our Rights Respecting Children working together to make a difference! All of the work that we do within the school revolves around our mission statement and school aims.
Our aims are deliberately broad as governors and staff believe that we must not only take into account our curricular aims, but other areas of school life are equally important, such as: - the learning environment; the behaviour which we expect from children; our expectations of staff; the relationship which we have with parents; the appearance and use of the site; the way we manage our finances and the role of governors.

My name is Jane Ellis and I have just completed 38 years in education, retiring last summer as an Executive Headteacher in a Multi Academy Trust in Hillingdon. Working with primary children has been a joy as young children are enthusiastic, friendly and easy to engage. I have now changed careers and work as a Visitor Experience Supervisor at the National Army Museum in Chelsea, London where I still see groups of school children!
The Coalition Government introduced the Pupil Premium in 2011 to provide additional school funding for those children classed as having deprived backgrounds, and also those who had been looked after (by a local authority) for more than six months. In addition, the Service Premium was introduced for children whose parent(s) are, or have since 2011, served in the armed forces.
The award is granted by UNICEF UK. The Rights Respecting Schools Award recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of a school's planning, policies, practice and ethos. The children are active participants in school life and in decision making about matters that affect them.
