It is my great privilege to be the Headteacher of West Ewell Primary School and Nursery. Our school is a happy, vibrant and successful place, where everyone shares the highest expectations and aspirations, working hard together to secure the best outcomes for every child. I hope our school website will give you a feel for what our school is like and the aims and values that are at the heart of what we do.

Wisteria in Y6 had the privilege of using the amazing new facilities @EpsomEwellHigh What an excellent and active afternoon it was! I feel safe in school because there are a lot of adults around me to help me and support me.
Services
We are a happy, vibrant and successful community school and we hope you enjoy looking at our website to find out more about this special place. We have a pre-school and primary specialist centre for children with communication and interaction needs (low complexity). We are excited to be able to continue our outstanding provision into key stage 2, and this year we complete our primary journey and welcome our first year six cohort.
West Ewell Primary School is situated in the community of West Ewell, Epsom. Set back from the road we are lucky to be surrounded by wonderful open spaces including Horton country park, the Hogsmill river and local nature reserve. Our school has 20 classes, including a specialist centre for Communication and Interaction Needs (COIN) and a nursery where our youngest children begin their journey aged just two.
We are immensely proud to have been graded 'Outstanding' again after our previous 'Outstanding' inspection in 2007. This reflects all the hard work and dedication by the staff, governors, children and parents and is so well-deserved. This award recognises and celebrates their commitment to a professional approach of communication and learning which puts trust, collaboration, sharing and openness at the heart of all they do.
Pre-school speech, language and communication needs centre (nursery) and communication and interaction needs centre - low complexity (YR-Y6). Our Primary COIN (low complexity) centre caters for children with recognised developmental language disorders.

The centre staff work very closely with the speech and language therapist and assistant, as well as the mainstream teachers, to enable all children to develop their full learning potential as well as developing social inclusion for all children. We also have 8 part-time places in the Pre-School Centre for Speech, Language and Communication Needs (PSLCN) in our Nursery.
ELSA stands for Emotional Literacy Support Assistant - and Clare Sbiti is the ELSA at our school. They provide on-going professional supervision to help maintain high quality in the work undertaken by ELSAs, thereby helping to ensure safe practice for ELSAs and pupils alike'. I started my ELSA training in 2014 and completed it in 2015.

When I studied in this school (which was in 2012), I thought the school campus was nice and I also liked how the students and teachers are supportive at all times. I learnt how to speak English fluently in this school thanks to Mr Cookabbott. I even have lots of memories and photos from this school on my bedroom wall right now!

My child went to this school, suffered bullying for first 18 months with the school swaying between the attitude of "didn't see it, didn't happen" to considering moving my childs class as though it was her fault. Months 19 - 30 were fine (head teacher on maternity leave (deputy head far more proactive in approach to everything). Final few months OK. Over the moon the school was just an infant school and now at a great primary school.
