The excellent sailing waters of Weymouth and Portland are some of the most beautiful and safe waters in the UK and provide a fantastic base for cruising or racing. Measuring 3 x 2 miles, Portland Harbour is a popular windsurfing location attracting thousands of sailors every year. It can be sailed in any wind direction and being virtually enclosed it offers a reasonably safe environment for beginners and improvers.
The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) offers excellent facilities for all levels of sailing ability, from complete beginners to Olympic medallists! Facilities at the sailing academy include a licensed clubhouse, conference / meeting rooms, slipways, a boat hoist, extensive dinghy and car parks, a permanent crane, and storage for all types of boats.
