Durdle Door is one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. This rock arch in the sea was formed as a result of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. The name Durdle is derived from an Old English word 'thirl' meaning bore or drill.
Constructed on three levels, which are easily accessed by means of a lift, the Fort is filled with displays, mammoth guns and cinema areas that chart the history of this large and magnificent Victorian structure. Nothe Fort is now one of Weymouth's major attractions and a venue for a wide range of events.
Set amongst the woodland of Dorset lays 65 acres of sanctuary for over 240 primates. Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim Cronin to provide abused Spanish beach chimps with a permanent, stable home. Today Monkey World works in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia.
Situated in a breathtaking part of Dorset, looking out over Chesil beach. Portland Oyster beds are just a stones throw from the restaurant so you can enjoy fresh Oysters on your table within minutes of them leaving the water! Specialise in other types of seafood, most loved are the fresh, local Crabs.
