I am proud to be the Head teacher of such a supportive learning community and I hope that, if you are considering our school for your child, you get a flavour of our work through this website. However, it is the energy, enthusiasm and creativity of our children and staff that makes our school really special.
We work hard at creating a caring and secure environment that children can flourish in, with a curriculum that provides challenge, stimulation and high expectations for all. We look forwards to working in partnership with parents, pupils and the wider community to build on our strengths and improve our school even further.

Services
At Hedon Primary School we shape our history curriculum to ensure it is fully inclusive to every child. Our aims are to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for History; providing a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum that encompasses the British Values throughout; ensuring the progressive development of historical concepts, knowledge and skills; and for the children to study life in the past.
At Hedon Primary School we are committed to providing a positive, safe and stimulating environment for children to learn, where all are valued. We intend that all children should enjoy their learning, achieve their potential and aspire to become independent life-long learners through understanding of the principles of growth mind-set and metacognition.
The Governing Body plays a key role in the life of Hedon Primary School, providing the strategic direction for the school and supporting the staff, pupils and parents in ensuring that the best possible provision is in place. The governors are very supportive of the school not only attending regular meetings but also scrutinising documentation, visiting the school, approving policies and acting as critical friends.
The school has a wide range of policies which are formulated and approved by the governing body. If you would like paper copies of these or any other documents on our website please contact the school office. Hedon Primary School collects and uses personal information about staff, pupils, parents and other individuals who come into contact with the school.
What is the Pupil Premium Grant? The Pupil Premium Grant is allocated to children from low-income families who are, or have been, eligible for free school meals (FSM), within the last six years. The grant is also made available to support children of service personnel and those who are looked after by the local authority (LAC).
