Services
Sawston Nursery is a purpose-built, modern facility for childcare and pre-school education. Designed with the safety and security of the children in mind at all times, the Nursery rooms are spacious, comfortably furnished and well-equipped with toys, books and learning resources. We have ample toilet and changing facilities throughout the building and provision for children with special needs.
Children develop close and affectionate bonds with caring and attentive staff and enjoy their time at the nursery where they feel safe and secure. The nursery is led well by the experienced manager and her well-qualified team. Staff work with enthusiasm and build positive relationships with families and other professionals.
Sawston Nursery is a great environment for children with food allergies. Allergies are handled sensitively and the team are able to accommodate extensive dietary requirements while providing a varied menu which is both nutritious and interesting to a toddler. Shortly after our son started at Sawston Nursery he had an allergic reaction at lunchtime and the situation was handled brilliantly.
Children are motivated to learn through their own curiosity and therefore, play is one of the important factors in which a child is able to learn and develop. Play can help a child to be a confident, independent learner and gain a sense of his or her own abilities. Through exploration and investigation, children can become very focused in what they are doing.
Musical Bumps takes place in the nursery once a month where children have the opportunity to take part in top quality friendly music classes with traditional songs and lullabies, musical games and percussion from around the world. The sessions are carefully planned to support each stage of development looking at children's social skills, early literacy and numeracy, school readiness and those all-important musical skills too!
