Wm Sykes & Son have been synonymous with agricultural sales since 1866. Our agricultural team offer a specialised service for the sale of land, farms, farmhouses, cottages and barn conversions. The team is headed up by senior partner, Paul Dixon. Paul has over 40 years' experience in agricultural property.
We employ a qualified Chartered Surveyor, John Green MRICS and offer a range of valuation services. John can carry out a wide range of surveys and valuation report for banks, building societies, housing associations, builders and private individuals. If you are buying a property it is always advisable to have an independent report carried out.
We hold regular collective sales of antiques, furniture, ceramics, glassware and general household contents at our auction room at Sude Hill, New Mill. We are able to advise on potential values of individual items to full house clearances. Viewings are held 7-9pm the Wednesday before the auction, 2-9pm the day before (Thursday) and from 12 noon on the day of sale.

Really horrible underhanded behaviour from WMsykes @Slaithwaite. I first sent a couple of emails regarding a property and copied myself in on all emails to make sure the old trick of (we never received your email) and I had a response the first time when I wanted to make an offer! But was completely ignored because they wanted to please a developer who more than likely paid less. I’m sure I will get a miserable excuse but when you treat a genuine cash buyer like trash then you show your true colours! I had property to sell and would never trust them as they treat potential buyers horribly and

Superb in every respect.
I recently sold a house (completed the week before last) with Wm Sykes' Slaithwaite office and from start to finish they were superb. Their attention to detail, courtesy and professionalism shone through at every turn. The excellent marketing ensured I had lots of interest and they filtered out the 'wheat from the chaff' to ensure I had a great bunch of serious buyers round to view the house. I accepted an offer 5 days from the property going live (above the asking price) and then sat back to let the girls in the office sort everything out. I really couldn't recommend

Really unhappy with Slaithwaite.
I had shown interest in a house and sent an email with an offer asking for someone to get back to me. I copied others in on my email and the email was delivered to them but WMS just didn’t even bother to get back to me. I have experienced this with them before and have spoken to others in the area who have also said that they simply got ignored if another buyer shows up. Why on earth you would purposely ignore buyers is insane! I guess it’s a matter of every £1 counts when your WMS and I’m a Cash buyer. Not really good customer service so I would definitely
