We hadn't eaten here for some years, having had a poor experience on our previous visit. However, I am glad to say that the quality has improved immensely, and this is now firmly on my list of favourite local restaurants.
It's a bit cramped for space and nearly always busy, so be prepared for a noisy, boisterous environment. But the menu, although small, has interesting selections and caters moderately well for veggie and vegan options.
You can tell you're in for an interesting mean when you see that one of the starters is scallops with... popcorn? Gets my vote!

Fantastic. Had the pleasure of having my birthday dinner here and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Two stand out dishes were the Scallops and the syrup Sponge with Apricot. The staff are great too, really easy to talk to and very attentive. There’s a reason this place is Michelin rated. If you’re reading this just go, it’s worth every penny.

While the food was mostly very good, our experience with the faux Red haired waitress was so unpleasant and full of attitude that I wish I'd left the restaurant when she first unleashed her toxic personality. Condescending sums it up. Her attitude comes up when you ask her a question. She manages to make you feel stupid and unwelcome very quickly. For someone as knowledgeable as her it's a mystery to me why I wasn't given a steak knife for my lower quality cut of beef. While we were signing for the dinner she turned on the charm for the first time as the tip was being decided.

We absolutely loved this place! We ordered from their tasting menu - braised duck croquette and miso salmon for appetizers, and filet mignon and sea bream for entrees. We loved every dish! The ingredients were very fresh and in season, and we really enjoyed the unexpected flavour combination in each dish. The portions look small at first, but were surprisingly filling - we were both stuffed after 2 courses! For vegetarians tho, the selection from their tasting menu may be a bit limited. It's also only a few minutes walk from Kelvingrove Art Gallery, very convenient for our itinerary. Would

I, a foodie, have lived in Glasgow ten months and this is the best restaurant I have been to. I took a gamble brining my parents here when they came to visit as I knew it was small and none of my friends have been. But now the question is, why have my friends not been??? They will now after my non stop praise.
Get the pork belly. It is their masterpiece. Accompanied by black pudding and an apple vanilla sauce the flavors are bold and magical. However, If you like monkfish, well the sauce my mother had was absolutely beautiful and delicious, making it almost just as good as my pork belly although

Ok so before I start, this is more a 4.5 star than a 4...
Number 16 has been at the top of my foodie bucket list ever since I clocked their pastry chef Helen Vass on Great British Bake off: Crème de la Crème (which she went on to win with her team - high praise indeed!). So when I found out July's Secret Dining was going to be at Number 16 I knew we were in for a real treat.
Located at the Partick end of Byres Road, it's quite a small restaurant with seating for perhaps 18 on the ground floor and a small mezzanine above. As a result, it feels very cosy and snug, would be lovely for

I had wanted to pay Number 16 a visit for a long time now, and thought it would be a nice wee treat for my dads birthday. We booked well in advance to make sure we got table as it is a very small restaurant. The staff were very welcoming on arrival, and we were seated straight away. It has a nice cozy, relaxed atmosphere. There is a range of dishes on the menu to suit all tastes. It is on the slightly pricey side, however well worth paying a little extra for high quality food.
We were initially given a choice of 3 breads rolls; they were freshly baked, served hot with olive oil and balsamic

The vibe in Number 16 is fairly relaxed, we visited on a Friday night and it was a pretty casual affair. The restaurant was nice enough, but nothing immediately jumped out at me decor wise.
It was a perfectly pleasant space to spend a few hours although it did feel a little cramped. The restaurant is pretty small and they have added a mezzanine level which just further adds to the feeling of being squeezed in by having a really low ceiling.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout the meal. Although because it was a busy Friday night we did have a little bit of a wait before we could

We finally made it out to try this Yelp favourite for lunch last week, and I'm sure glad we did. The place, while small, is lovely; I really enjoyed the ceramics, which seemed to be custom-made for the place (salt and pepper pots with 16s on them, bread plates with different wee animals, and even a few animal tiles in the loos!)
On to the good stuff: the food! For lunch on a weekday, they had a set menu with 2 items for 13.95 or 3 for 16.95. I started with a watermelon and feta salad, and my partner had a different salad that so help me I cannot remember what was in it. Mine was really

We visited Number 16 one very rainy lunchtime and it was an absolute delight!
The place itself is very snug, although it might have had an upstairs too?! It was kitted out with lovely hand painted ceramics, decorated with the cutest little animals. The staff were very welcoming and brought us a jug of water and some fresh red pepper rolls with dipping oils when we arrived.
To start with I had THE MOST DELICIOUS beetroot and goats cheese tart I have ever tasted. It was heaven and not only did it taste deliciously tangy, creamy, crumbly and fresh but it also looked like a work of art. The boy

What a lovely little restaurant!
I guess that's a good a place to start as any, Number 16 is small but manages not to feel cramped, so maybe 'cosy' is a better way to describe it.
We had a table for two upstairs, and whilst we waited for another party to arrive at another table - remember, small place, so the kitchen works better if they cook in batches - we enjoyed some bread dipped in their own olive oil - infused parmesan, rosemary and garlic olive oil - aged balsamic vinegar. I'd happily have just sat there with fresh bread and that wonderful oil, and a glass of wine for

On a very snowy Friday evening, we happened to be booked in here for dinner with friends. With Byres road shutdown and the snow falling, it was certainly a very Christmas feeling getting here as our first visit.
Very warm welcome in, as we got settled in. Thankfully, near a radiator to defrost gloves!
Opted for Beef in tempura batter and fishcakes. Wow... Not only a work of art on the plate, these flavours were amazing! Fishcakes were not overpowering & we literally cleared the plates in 60 seconds!
For mains, I went with Ox cheek, Fiona has slow cooked Pork Belly & friends had butternut

My lovely boyfriend brought me here tonight as a surprise and for a late birthday dinner! It was amazing; it's such a small, quaint place but I loved it, especially because it was cosy and the menu had a few specific choices that we could choose from (quality over quantity)
We ordered 3 mains (ox cheek, duck and fish) and white wine; everything was superb! Interesting flavours; a little bit asian, a little bit western. Great balance!
We had the lemon posset with basil sorbet and this was such a delight! So refreshing and for me, a new taste for my palate.
Staff were also super friendly

I love Number 16, I really, really do. My parents are visiting from Australia, and I thought this would be the perfect place to take them for lunch on their second day in Glasgow before heading to the Riverside Museum nearby.
On a Sunday, they have a two course deal for £12.95 between 1pm - 2.30pm which you'll probably need to book ahead for as the restaurant is quite small. We easily booked a table the day before for four which was a relief. We had the large table at the back of the restaurant which is great for spreading out and relaxing, with lots of lovely cushions and comfy seats.

No 16 means a great deal to us, as it was the place where Briony and I decided to get married. It always evokes great memories for us, and we lucked out, as we picked an amazing place for the memories - it could have been McDonalds!
Small, but perfectly formed, this a restaurant with a great atmosphere, and food to match. It serves up classic flavours brilliantly cooked, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Prices are pretty good, and the pre theatre - £16.95 for 2 courses is great value for the quality of food you get.
Definitely a place to make your own memories. Highly recommended

Situated at the bottom of Byres road number 16 is small neighbourhood restaurant with a strong reputation for serving top quality food since 2009. It was awarded an AA rosette in 2011 and has won several other awards for their continual efforts. After a nice leisurely stroll down Byres road and we arrived at the restaurant. We were instantly surprised at how small it was, regardless of this they have made excellent use of the space and created a nice cosy atmosphere. We were taken to our seats on the higher mezzanine level and shown the set menu for the day, two courses at £14.95 and three courses
