La Rosa Hotel
In order to reduce the number of guests our staff come into contact with, we have initiated a minimum 2 night stay for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your understanding. Situated in an elegant period townhouse on Whitby's West Cliff, our hotel was once a favourite of Lewis Carroll and boasts one of the finest views in the country.

Facing us across the picturesque harbour are the ruins of Whitby Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. Each of our unique rooms have been lovingly designed using Whitby's rich heritage as inspiration. Our Victorian tearoom serves home made cakes and drinks and is available for private hire, as is the whole hotel - a perfect destination for family get togethers and celebrations.

Quirky interiors - unique character of each room. Scented hallways lead to an eccentric collection of antiques and unusual collectibles. Very friendly service.

I'm not sure how anyone can complain about having no television when you're in Whitby? The hosts were magnificent and welcoming, the room refreshingly different (Red Riding Hood) and the breakfast-in-a-bag, perfect.

I was in Whitby with my mother and my sister and brother in law for a weekend break. However the ladies really wanted to stay at La Rosa, but they only had 1 room available,,, so me and my brother in law stayed at a different hotel nearby. We had a great weekend and on the Sunday me and my brother in law checked out of our hotel and decided to go see the girls and go look a their room as they were saying it was nice, and help with the bags. Anyway, we got to Las Rosa and I explained that we were waiting for my mother and sister and that I had heard good things about the rooms. The receptionist

"Victorian Seaside Fun"
Every one of those words is true for this hotel.

I whisked the lover off for a 6 month anniversary jaunt and wow! just wow!
The first thing that you notice as you pull up to the hotel are the incredible views. Situated on East Terrace, Whitby is below you, with the Shambles and the Abbey on the other side of the harbour. It may seem like miles away but really is only a 5 minute walk downhill (a bit longer on the way back up!!).

La Rosa is fantastic, from the intoxicating smell of lavender and honey as you walk through the door to the inordinate amount of
