Eaten here several times before, but have to say the last time we went was particularly good.
Staff are so smiley and friendly, just makes the whole atmosphere so warm and fun.
Food was great - I'm pescatarian and there are loads of options for me. My partner ordered a paneer makhani (that wasn't on the menu either, just his favourite curry) and staff were more than happy to oblige and it was really good quality.
Love going here at the end of a night on York Road. True Brummy night out with quality food and company!

My partner and I decided on a curry last Friday night. We decided to try Sylhet Spice as it is just around the corner yet we have never been. I collected the meal and was not surprised to find the restaurant full to capacity. There was a lovely atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Despite arriving well after the recommended 40 minutes I did have to wait a little while for my food (approximately 20 minutes). The staff did not explain or apologise for the wait which I found a little frustrating.
As we were eating from somewhere new we chose one of the chef's specials

It's not easy to rate curry houses as there's never much between them, but this is a pleasant one, that's a decent takeaway when you're in lazy-girl, non-domestic-goddess mode.
A large menu with more than the usual Baltis and Bhunas, the Bangladeshi dishes are worth exploring if you're feeling adventurous.
Quick and polite service, reasonably priced.

I have been visiting Sylhet Spice quite a lot over the last year. Especially as I have managed to convince the rest of my colleagues in my department, for us to have our end of term meals here! And they have all fallen in love with this curry house too.
The menu is vast with many speciality dishes, which I am always a fan of, to be able to try something orginal and special to the restuarant. Food is always of a high standard and always have a great meal, along with my friends, we don't have any complaints.
On my last visit, I had the Shobzi Bihari which is a North Indian dish, full of

Based on York Road by the popular Hare and Hounds pub in Kings Heath, Sylhet Spice is probably my favourite curry restaurant in Brum. Specialising in Bangladeshi cuisine the menu is extensive and features some unusual fusion dishes including some that involve quail, duck and species of fish I've never seen in a curry before. I particularly love their cheesy Naans - bit of a guilty pleasure really as I'm sure these aren't terribly authentic and their creamy Murgh dishes...cor, I'm drooling just thinking about them! They offer a children's menu, are licensed and the decor

I'm entertaining a touring Canadian band and we're sat outside The Hare & Hounds having a beer. We talk about getting some food before the show and we get onto the subject of Asian food. 'We know the best curry restaurant outside of Asia', one of them proclaims, 'Its in Vancouver.' I point at Sylhet Spice cuisine over the road and say 'THAT'S the best curry restaurant outside of Asia'. The gauntlet having been throw down, we cross the road and enter in...
Sat inside, the ambiance is nice. Yes, 'nice'. There is high-end dining furniture

This is the best Indian Restaurant in the UK. Absolutely brilliant food, and I am always recommending it to people who stay locally for business meetings etc.
The food is always fllawless, in fact its even better than flawless since its modernisation.
Every single meal i've had since I started coming here over 15 years ago has been brilliant.
Since my fiancee came with me for the first time, she was hooked and we go atleast once a month where our money permits.
Outstanding!
