Glen learnt the ropes from Michelin Starred trained chefs and has battled his way to the top over the last decade. Whole hearty food, created with knowlege, passion & he takes great pride in his extensive cook book collection, taking inspiration from professional chefs which can be seen on the plate!

Our lush tropic gardens are dotted with curiosities to pique your interest. It's a recapturing of uninhibited childhood imagination. And for reflective moments, recline upon our trim lawn-a grass infinity pool vanishing into ocean. See for yourself. Our country house in the shade of grand pines is a place of intrigue, indulgence, and genuine moments of feeling far away from the typical.
Services
Hidden around our historic country home, overlooking the waves, you'll find all sorts of oddities. Romantic dinners and lazy breakfasts; slow drinks in the dappled shade of our luxuriant garden; refreshing coastal wanders. It's about relaxing, indulging in the finer things, and relishing in the loveliness of Cornwall.
When you're away from home it's the little things that count. No one likes wandering around with cold wet hair or finding themselves lacking something comfy to slip into after a blissful soak in the tub. That's why we have a hair dryer and a soft white robe and slippers in each room waiting for you.
Your four legged friend can join you on your break away, we charge 15 per night per dog. They will be offered sausage for breakfast & poached chicken for dinner. We do reccommend that you bring your dogs normal food & they take advatnage of our little offerings. We could have stopped at offering dog friendly rooms.
At Talland Bay it's the meeting of exceptional culinary talent and the highest quality produce our country has to offer. Cornwall is an abundant land of sumptuous ingredients. You're going to be spoilt. Our team, led by Glen Meriott, selects seasonal fare-freshly caught, picked, churned, and plucked.
We're so enamoured with gin we've created our own, in partnership with the Colwith Farm Distillery. The first 'plough to bottle' distillery in Cornwall. Our idea was to distil a pure spirit, true to its roots, yet firmly of the Cornish farmlands and coast. What inspired our gin was its historic origins as a wellness tonic.

Let's just say the service provided by the staff here is second to none. It's not over the top but extremely friendly and everyone has time for a chat. Food and accommodation is first class and the location is just so tranquil. We will definitely go back.

Please ignore my last review. Senior moment, review meant for another restaurant. Talland Bay is our favourite hotel in the UK. Great location, wonderful food and super staff. Can't wait for our New Year stay.

Parking is £1.40 for an hour or £4 for 1-3 hours as of October 2021. The beach here is dog friendly.
The bay is at the bottom of a narrow single track lane with regular passing points, and is quite steep in places.
The bay itself is small and secluded / sheltered, with a relatively steep stone and slate beach with heavy seaweed covering. A seam of plum purple slate can to found in the cliff face to the right as you look out to sea.
Fresh water trickles down to the sea from the direction of the car park next to the bay.
The menu for the Talland Bay Cafe has been uploaded with this review.

It looked quirky on website but, apart from the view, a bit tired and washed up. No finesse with our lunch, crab meat between two huge doorsteps of bread, not what I was expecting and for the price, service awful!!! Massively overpriced…..style over substance.

Lovely spot to stop for a coffee or a (very good, proper) ice cream as you pass it on the coast path walk. Gorgeous little beach. Very clean.

Very nice little beech cafe, smallish car park, kids loved the rock pools. Pretty safe swimming although not patrolled by lifeguard.

Lovely sheltered bay, beach is a mixture of sand, gravel and stones. A small stream runs down the middle of the beach. Can get quite busy for a small beach. Lots of rocks for exploring and rock pools.

Gorgeous little slice of cornish heaven. Single track roads to get in and out, so only if you're a confident driver, reversing back to a crossing point is fun and games, but so worth this slice of heaven! Get there about 9.30 to park in the pay and display right by the beach. The cafe is amazing! Brilliant day out!

Love it! Sheltered from any form of west wind, great for SUP'ing, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming. Very easy access from the car park. The beach has a gentle gradient at low tide, so reasonably safe for the kids, no major rips (unless there is a bit of surf rolling, then do take care!). Parking is limited, so arrive early, but that helps to keep the crowds down. The only real down side is between spring and July the beach can get a bit wiffy from the rotting seaweed that gets washed in from the winter storms, but that's natural and an important part of the bays ecology.
