At Kitwell we understand that many children and families experience difficult times which can make school and home life a struggle. If you have any worries or concerns about yourself or your child, however trivial you may think they are, one of the roles of a Family Support Worker (FSW) is to work closely with children and families who may be experiencing some sort of difficulty that is having an impact on them and their family.

It could be a complex issue such as bereavement, separation or changes in family circumstances. At Kitwell the emotional welfare of our pupils is of the greatest importance and having a dedicated FSW enables these issues to be given the care and time needed to be sensitively and compassionately worked through together.
Services
Hello and on behalf of myself, Staff and Governors, I would like to welcome you to our website. Our school has a very nurturing environment where all staff work very hard to ensure that every child develops and feels valued - in fact, our tagline is "Kitwell - Where children are at the heart of everything that we do!" Visitors often comment on how welcoming and friendly the school feels - something we are very proud of!
Kitwell Primary School is based in Bartley Green in Birmingham. It is a small, self contained, single level building. We have a hall, a small library, offices and staff room, a reception area, ICT suite and nine teaching bases. Each classroom has its own sink unit and access to cloak areas and two playgrounds.
At Kitwell Primary School, we consider the safeguarding of children to be our most important priority. Children need to feel safe, cared for and valued in order to learn and thrive. Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.

To ensure this statutory guidance is followed, we take action to enable all children to have the best outcomes, through our safeguarding measures, regardless of their age, culture, physical needs, gender, language, racial origin, religious beliefs and sexual identity. In order to do this, we have clear procedures in place to ensure that disclosures or allegations are taken seriously, recorded correctly and investigated.
The DfE reinforce the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated in 2014.
Playing sport helps to keep people healthy and is good for communities. Playing sport at school or in a local club is also the first step to competition at the highest level, which helps improve our reputation as a sporting nation, and contributes to economic growth. But when people leave school they often stop playing sports, which means people can't fulfil their sporting potential, and can lead to a less healthy lifestyle.
