Services
Learning Mentors work with groups of pupils and individuals, teachers and managers, parents, carers and families, schools and other agencies, helping to construct a support network. Within that framework they develop trusting relationships in which information can be shared. A wide variety of pupils are supported by Learning Mentors, often with behaviour problems or persistent absenteeism.
At Adderley, we operate a Breakfast Club, starting at 8:00am, and a Late Club, running from 3:30 to 4:00pm. Only in special circumstances (agreed by the Head) can children come in to school any earlier than 8:00am or be collected later than 4:00pm. If children are permitted to come to school earlier, they must wait in the main reception where they can be supervised.
The curriculum at Adderley is designed to provide a broad and balanced education that meets the needs of all children in line with the National Curriculum and statutory guidance. It provides opportunities for children to develop as independent, confident and successful learners, with high aspirations, who know how to make a positive contribution to their community and the wider society.
Mathematics is vital for the life opportunities of our children. Our aim is for all children to think mathematically, enabling them to reason and solve problems in a range of contexts. At Adderley Primary School, our Mathematics Mastery curriculum has been developed to ensure every child can achieve excellence in mathematics.
PE is taught by specialist PE teachers, class teachers and teaching assistants. Every child in the school has a minimum of two hours of PE each week, with KS2 having a further 30 minutes of swimming. PE lessons may be taught inside in their classroom, the computing suite, one of our two halls, outside in one of our facilities or at Sparkhill Pool and Fitness Centre.

I know someone who came to this school as a NQT and hated every second. I would give this school zero stars. Leadership is absolutely poor, offer no support to NQT's. Leadership bully staff and make you feel intimidated no wonder staff leave this school on such a regular basis staff retention is very bad. Avoid this school at all cost do not waste your time probably the worse school in Birmingham to work at. There should be an investigation into this school and Birmingham city council need to take this seriously because they way they treat their staff is atrocious.

This is a good school. The headteacher is a leader of great
vision and energy who has led the school very successfully in the huge
improvement it has made in the last two years. She is strongly supported by a
senior leadership team which shares her very high expectations and together
they provide excellent leadership and management. The school provides
exceptional care and support for all pupils and families and is an integral
part of the local community. Read what parents really say about the school
