At Sowe Valley Primary School our intent is to provide broad, challenging and inspiring themes which create a love of learning and a passion for history. We will help pupils gain a secure, coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world.

I would like to introduce myself to you. I am Carole Carter and I am very proud to be your headteacher. I feel that I have the best job in the world, that of seeing children develop into wonderful young people who can make their way confidently in the world. I believe that our children deserve the best and will work tirelessly to promote the best interests of the children here at Sowe Valley.
I would like to start this letter by saying an enormous "THANK YOU" to all of you who have contacted the school or sent in messages of thanks and support over the last few months. This has been a situation like no other that we have ever had to face and myself and our staff have appreciated your support and kind words hugely!
It was allocated to children from low-income families who were known to be eligible for free school meals in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings, and children who had been looked after continuously for more than six months. Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However they are responsible for how they use the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families and the other target groups.
The Government has committed to providing funding until 2020 to provide substantial primary school sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and has seen money go directly to primary school Head Teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.
At Sowe Valley, we aim for our children to foster a life long love of learning. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is creative, inspiring and fun! We encourage our children to have the confidence to explore and experiment as they work to develop their talents and achieve their full potential.
