Established more than 40 years ago, Common Fold Boarding Kennels is family run and is fully Registered and Licensed as Boarding Kennels by the local authorities. Our boarding kennels in Tyldesley are set in a quiet, parkland-type setting, situated within the backdrop of a working Lancashire farming area.
Our purpose-built kennels are all heated during colder months and are both spacious and comfortable, to provide our guests with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our kennels are normally used as individual units, but of course if you have 2 dogs or cat's that would like to keep together in the same kennel, this is easily arranged.

The only place I will trust to look after my babies! I’ve been using Common Fold for over 10 years now. They helped me out with ‘doggy daycare’ for my reactive dog and nor provide all the holiday care for our family of 5 dogs. John, Mandy, Tom and Pat love animals, their kindness and compassion for your pets shines through. They treat all of mine like they are their own with extra cuddles and regular updates whilst I’m away.

Woody is our 11 month old pomapoo he’s our first pet and I was apprehensive about putting him a kennel while we went on our family holiday but I have nothing but praise for our 1st experience John was welcoming and friendly and put me at ease right from the start I even got pictures of my boy having fun whilst away would highly recommend Woody came home and it was like we had never left him 😊

After being let down by another Kennel company , Common Folds was more than happy to board our Springer Spaniel Max for a week with very little notice.
From the moment of meeting John and viewing the kennels, I knew Max would be happy and be in safe hands!
John also went out of his way to keep us updated with pictures and videos of how Max was doing throughout the week.
If and when we do go away without Max in the future, I will be 100% using Common Folds again.

Lovely cattery and great, relaxed service which is what I really needed using kennels for the first time. We even had to change dates last minute and they were extremely accommodating. Cats came back happy and healthy, and haven’t been withdrawn or sulky like I was expecting. Will use again and recommend to anyone looking for a decent kennels

We have been using Common Fold Kennels for our 3 fur kids for a couple of years for several holidays. I won’t leave them with just anybody and what Amanda and John have here is superb. They look after them so well and there is a lovely paddock where they receive their daily exercise. Amanda keeps in touch during the holiday, providing photo updates and videos too. Definitely a 5* service I would highly recommend 👍🏻👌🏻

I’ve been taking my Skye a 10 yr old patterdale here for a few years now and always receive good service. This is a family run business and Tom, Pat and their son John are always very pleasant and easy to talk to. It’s only in the last year we’ve started using their pick up and drop of service as Skye can be awkward in the car and it caused me both but stress . So this service takes away the stress from me prior to going away.
