My name is Ian Barker and this image shows me playing at a wedding reception - a distraction from my main occupation which is guitar teacher. I studied guitar for three years at Leeds Music School and since then I have taught a wide range of students of all ages and abilities, and this includes some local guitar tutors.
The age range of my students is varied with some as young as six years and others of retirement age. One thing I have learned is that we all develop at different rates so don't worry if you think you are a slow learner; I will go at your pace. The below profiles will give you a flavour of the diverse range of guitar players I teach.
Ideally, the answer is yes. The price of guitars varies considerably and I would be able to advice you with regard to making a purchase. However, to get you started with your lessons I will be able to lend you a guitar whilst you are with me. My students span a wide age range - some are as young as 8 years old and others of retirement age.

He's patient and really knows his craft, he's taught half the guitar teachers in Blackburn at some point and is the reason that I'm a guitar teacher now also!
