Irlam Primary is a school in which every child is valued and given every opportunity to develop their full potential in a supportive and caring environment.
A beautiful and harmonious family atmosphere pervades our school. We always strive for high standards and very good progress. One of my favourite sayings is 'Shoot for the moon! If you don't reach the moon, you'll land amongst the stars!' We have a wonderful and experienced staff who pride themselves in their consistent hard work to provide an exciting curriculum which brings about good progress and high standards for our pupils.

In 2015 Irlam Primary School proudly celebrated its Centenary. Whilst the curriculum, the buildings and the staff have changed over the years there is one thing that has remained constant. That is the fact that we are dedicated to providing a quality education for the children of Irlam and Cadishead.
At Irlam Primary School, we regard the safeguarding of children as our main priority. We believe that we all have the right to be happy, to be safe and to learn; we all have the responsibility to make this happen. Parents should be aware that the school will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its pupils.
What percentage of your Year 6 pupils could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres when they left your primary school at the end of the last academic year? What percentage of your Year 6 pupils could use a range of strokes effectively (for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke) when they left your primary school at the end of the last academic year?
The curriculum will deliver National Curriculum objectives in a challenging and motivating way, offering you hands-on and experiential learning both inside and outside of the classroom. At Irlam Primary School we recognise and celebrate uniqueness and diversity so we promise that our curriculum will meet your individual needs.
For further information regarding any aspect of our curriculum please speak to your child's class teacher or any member of the Senior Leadership Team. As part of our reading scheme the children have access to a wide range of fiction and non fiction texts. The books are colour coded to monitor progress.
