SmithS Restaurant provide, a high quality French style menu a relaxing atmosphere with quiet colours, wood textures and soft mood lighting. Heavily influenced by his time spent working in France, the food, the wines and atmosphere create a place where you can spend a few hours of civilised pleasure.

Wine & Other Drinks Report

These wines are selected not just for quality in their own right, but also to compliment our food. There are no rigid rules in matching food and wine but as a guide pair delicate flavours together, acidity (crispness) with salty and oily food, and intensity with richness. Clearly sweet wine is best with dessert, although our slightly sweet welcome drink is just right to gently warm up your palate before the meal!.

Food was exceptional, staff extremely friendly, lovely atmosphere, well looked after. Will definately be back, with our 7 year old next time, as the kids menu also has an option for the braised blade of beef (would highly recommend).

As ever the experience was excellent. We went out mid week having pre-booked on line. Clear cancellation and cost instructions given should things have gone wrong where given pre confirmation. Sample menus are also available. As portions are generous we opted for a main and dessert. The beef was mouthwatering. The cheeseboard was a lovely selection of cheeses, crackers, and accompaniments and the sticky toffee was a triumph apparently also. It's always a delight to eat there, and other guests were clearly enjoying their selections also. Thanks as always.

Just had our last meal of 2021 tonight and it did not disappoint. It was the best meal out of the year . Saved the best till last . Every course was delicious and service was outstanding. Anyone eating here in 2022 will not be disappointed 🥰

This is such a great restaurant. The menu varies only according to season availability and everything is well cooked. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They were kind enough to print menus to welcome my mum on her 86th birthday, made a lovely fuss of her and made her day very special. Can't thank them enough.

Very helpful staff on the phone and on the night. Food was amazing and the service lovely. Combinations I couldn’t even conceive that worked. And I even finished my cauliflower (unheard of). Thank you. Definitely will be back

Was here for my mums 60th birthday, personalised menus saying happy birthday which was a lovely touch! Phoned up to see if they would accommodate a vegetarian with an allergy prior to booking. Turned up to a full menu catered for them. Amazing attention to detail. Food was lovely. Highly recommend.
